A Bad Situation

One-Shot

He was scared.

There was no other way to say it.

He was scared, and there was no escape.

Gaara cursed silently and ducked into a darkened alleyway, trying to meld into the shadows of night. She was crazy, that was the only explanation; she was absolutely off her rocker. Gaara didn't know what about Konoha made its citizens that way, but he had yet to meet one that wasn't insane.

The sand user was struck out of his reverie as a high pitched voice called out from the main street.

"Oh, Gaara-san! Come out, come out wherever you are!!"

Gaara's eyes widened as sweat appeared on his forehead, and he sat down and pulled himself against the alley wall, wishing he could turn into the stone behind him, if only to escape.

The light from the main way's street lamp was suddenly cut off, and Gaara's heart sped up in distress as he looked up at the silhouette above him.

"Why, hello there Gaara-san."

She bent over him, bringing her nose to almost touch his, and Gaara tried to further shrink down. Her hair formed a pink curtain around him, and jade eyes pierced into his own teal ones. Her lips formed a predatory smirk, and she bent closer to him, Gaara squeezed his eyes shut, never having been this close to a person before. His eyes opened wide in surprise as he felt her hot breath on the side of his face, and she whispered slowly into his ear.

"My, my, Gaara-san," she paused for a moment, and then grinned widely, "it appears you're in a bad situation, doesn't it?"

Gaara suddenly wished he had never bought Haruno Sakura that flask of sake.
