Hey guys I have always liked the Destiel "high school" AU story's so I decided on writing one
Castiel Novak was a 15 year old boy who wasn't exactly popular, he was seen as a little bit odd, and his personality was considered unusual. But he didn't care he liked who he was.
As he was growing up he began to realise that he preferred guy's to girls, but he NEVER mentioned it to anyone, not even his best friend who was a guy named Chuck Shirley, and they became friends probably over the fact that they were so similar.
~First day of year 10~ [or grade, I'm Australian so we say year]
Castiel walked down the halls with confidence, this year he wanted everything to change, he wanted people to notice him [in a good way] and he wanted respect.
The school bully Uriel walked up to him, but he kept walking.
"Hey where do you think you're going Novak?"
"Away from you" Castiel smiled
Uriel grabbed Castiel and shoved him against the closest locker.
His hand was balled into a fist ready to punch him at any second.
"Hey Uriel cut it out man!"
Castiel recognised the beautiful voice immediately, it belonged to Dean Winchester, he was the most gorgeous human being he had ever seen...and Castiel wanted him.
"Oh come on Dean, the little punk completely ignored me"
"I don't blame him, you've got him shoved against a locker"
Uriel glared at the older Winchester, but then put Castiel down.
Uriel started to walk away, Dean looked back at Castiel and gave him a slight nod and smile.
Castiel's heart absolutely melted, Dean Winchester had just stood up for him.
"Hey Cas u alright?" Chuck said as he raced over to him as fast as he could.
"Yeah...Fine"
Chuck looked at Cas and saw the way he was looking at Dean, he knew his best friend was gay but he didn't care, he was his friend and when he was ready to tell him he would.
Chuck waved a hand in front of Castiel's face.
"Yo Cas?"
"Oh sorry, yeah let's go"
Castiel blushed and continued walking with Chuck to science. Once they got to the room they realised they were 5 minutes late. They raced inside to find Mr. Singer explaining the process of plant reproduction.
Without turning around Mr. Singer spoke, "you're late boys don't let it happen again".
Castiel and Chuck nodded and began walking towards the two spare seats at the back of the classroom, other students snickering at them along the way.
~after class~
Chuck followed Castiel out of the classroom towards their lockers.
"Hey Cas do you wanna stay over after school?" Chuck asked.
"Um, yeah sure I'll call my mother hang on"
Castiel pulled out his phone and called his mother, she picked up on the 3rd ring.
"Hi Mum"
"Oh hi sweetie, you're still at school is something wrong?"
"Oh no nothing's wrong, I was just wondering if I could stay over Chucks house after school"
"For the night?"
"Yeah"
"Um yeah that should be alright"
"Thanks mum"
He pressed the end call button, snapped his phone shut and looked up at Chuck smiling.
"I can come"
"Sweet, we can play video games, watch movies, oh and you can read one of the books I'm working on and-
Castiel ignored Chuck as he kept rambling on, instead his gaze was fixed on Dean Winchester who was playing basket ball with Uriel and Gabriel. He wasn't wearing a shirt and Castiel definitely noticed. He bit his lip to prevent his tongue from sticking out.
Chuck had stopped speaking about 2 minutes ago and was waiting for Cas to stop his ogling of the older Winchesters chiselled features.
Chuck waved a hand in front of Cas [for the second time that day sheesh]
"Um, sorry what?"
Chuck sighed, he wished Cas would just tell him, didn't he trust his best friend?
"I said do you want pizza for dinner tonite?"
"Oh yeah sounds great"
The rest of the day seemed to drag on forever with boring subject after boring subject, oh well Cas was still looking forward to staying over at Chucks after school.
When the last bell went, Castiel walked home with Chuck.
After about 15 minutes they arrived at Chuck's house, it wasn't massive but it wasn't tiny, it was a nice house, family like.
Once inside Cas and Chuck dumped their bags in the corner of the room and sat on the couch, Castiel was the first to speak.
"Hey Chuck, can I tell you something?"
Chucked looked at him and smiled.
"Yeah sure"
Castiel prepared himself, he had known Chuck for 5 years and he was ready to tell him who he really was, he really hoped they would still be best friends after he told him though.
He didn't have any other friends.
"Um...Okay...well you see, err I like guys...you know like that"
Castiel looked intently at his friend waiting desperately for his response.
"I know"
"What, you do?"
"I've known ever since the Winchesters moved here" he emphasized the word Winchesters.
"Oh" was all Castiel could get out.
"So yeah, I have to put up with you staring at Dean Winchester day after day"
Castiel blushed.
Chuck put his arm around his friend.
"Hey dude I don't care, well I care a little but I like you just the way you are"
"Really, well that's a relief"
"Cas can you try not to stare at Dean too much when you're around me though, cause its disturbing"
Castiel laughed
"Sorry, yeah I'll try not to"
After having that conversation Castiel was really happy that his friend still liked him. Cas and Chuck spent the rest of the night eating pizza, watching movies, playing video games and even just talking.
