Well summer's a blast - piiiiiish~ I'm still waiting to see Joseph Gordon Levitt in the Dark Knight
Anyways I've actually been puzzling over how to use this song in a story and a one-shot is not gonna cut it
The story follows Princess of China by Coldplay ft. Rihanna and I just love this song so much!
All Sonic characters belong to SEGA.
The song is owned by Coldplay - although I wish I took Rihanna's place and been part of the duet HEEHEE WE'LL SEE. ENJOY~
Once upon a time somebody ran
Somebody ran away saying 'fast as I can
I got to go, I got to go'
January 30th, 1904
The eerie forest was thick with a cover of soft white snow as the cold wind howled through the dark dead trees and the calm snowflakes rode along the direction of wind, falling daintily onto the snow covered earth. Night fall brought a disturbing atmosphere and the bright circular moon dawned its light upon the over the quiet forest bringing out a glistening sheen over the snow. Deep footprints in the snow and white silk trimmed with lace followed suit along the trail; heavy breaths and fear-filled eyes, a young hedgehog ran and trudged through the thick snow. Struggling with her strength, the pink hedgehog in white ran without taking one glance over her shoulders. Her long pink quills tangled into waterfall braids flew rapidly with the rough winds and her body shook with chills but refused to stop; she did not know where she was going but she needed to go far for her life depended on it. Her face was flushed with streams of tears running down her pale cheeks and her eyes were wide with fear and disbelief; her mind screamed for her to run and to run fast. The horrible painful memory impaled into Amelia Rose's mind continued to replay in her head which made her run faster, forgetting about the darkness and cold.
"What are you waiting for, Amelia?" the dark hedgehog yelled, "You need to get to safety!"
"I won't leave you here!" Amelia said as she grasped onto his arm.
"Listen to me, we'll both make it out of here and I promise if we are separated, I will find you even it takes my entire life. I will find you!" Shadow said before pushing her into a hedge.
If it weren't for the tragic incident that occurred just a few hours ago, she would've been hand in hand with the heroic knight, Sir Shadow the Hedgehog. She could remember the sudden explosions and burning tree, the way he pulled her into his arms and how they ran out of the church but she would not be able to forget the arrow aimed at her fiancé's heart before he pushed her into the thick hedge. Questions flashed by Amelia's head, nothing made sense as to why these strangers would come and try to take their lives. A thunderous neigh filled the night air sending fearful chills down her spine and her pace quick up as she left a trail of footprints across the clean snow; her ears picked up on an echo of hooves galloping towards her. Looking at the ground, Amelia's eyes widened at the trail she had created and mentally slapped herself; she didn't know how to climb trees and snapping off a lifeless branch to sweep her footprints away would be impossible considering the height of the trees so her only chance was to run.
Taking a look into the dark horizon, the rumbling of the oncoming horse men was coming closer and she noticed a yellow glow to the horses' eyes from out of the dark. Amelia pushed herself to run and survive in order to see her love again when suddenly the fog cleared from her view and a frozen lake appeared; she was frantic and afraid, unsure if she would be able to make it over without falling in. Taking a look over her shoulder, the dark silhouettes of the horsemen were perfectly outlined and without a second thought, she carefully stepped onto the icy lake.
"Don't let her get away!" yelled one of the men.
Gently with each step, she walked slowly across the wide lake but wasn't close to halfway over; Amelia, although she could hear the horsemen not too far behind her, kept calm and collected in order to throw off her balance. If Shadow can make it through the worst, she motivated herself to do the same in order to see another day. Their screams, the cold winds, gunshots, the fearsome neighing and the matter of life or death she stood upon brought a burden of stress over her fragile over her body. Unfortunately for one of the horsemen, he failed to see the glass icy lake in front of him and rode over it, thus falling into the deadly cold waters; an idea pierced into her head and she grabbed onto the horse's reins as the poor animal tried to keep his body above water. Continuing to pull and urge the horse to move closer, the ice slowly began to break apart as the horse swam; arrows flew at the young damsel but she luckily dodged them as she pulled herself on to the horse's back. Pushing the black horse forth, the animal was able to swim and struggle through the cold waters and was finally able to make it to land; the fallen horseman was no longer to see above the water and the others on the other side of the lake shot another array of arrows towards the young flower.
Snapping the reins, Amelia sped forward as the arrows trailed behind her as a heavy pressure settled onto her chest; the mix of fear and determination fueled her strength and the horse's eyes glowed brightly as it galloped swiftly. The arrows flew past her, hitting the snow covered grounds and dead trees until she let out a cry of pain. A trail of blood ran down her shoulder as an arrow sliced it open; Amelia knew that they could not stop.
"We have to keep going!" Amelia told herself, "We need to find shelter."
Letting out a huff, the horse ran forward ignoring the aches from his thigh; as they rode on, Amelia could not help but be reminded that horse was as strong-minded and focused just like Shadow. His resolute manner and charismatic yet quiet personality was some of the things she fell in love with him for and her heart ached for Shadow to be beside her. A trail of tears crawled down her cheeks again but was quickly wiped away as she felt a numbing yet burning sensation pierced through her body and gave out a grunt of pain. The symptoms of hypothermia were slowly killing her as she began to feel her mind slip in and out of consciousness and her speech began to slur. Unaware that they were out of the forest and were trampling through the hills, her mind began to spin and everything around her began to morph into senseless beings.
A sudden neigh erupted from the horse waking Amelia out from her confusion and her eyes widened when she noticed the shadowed outline of a house with scattered dim lights out in the dark horizon. A pang of hope ran through Amelia's chest as the house came closer and closer but suddenly a shot of unbearable pain writhed through her body and she lost hold of the reins thus falling down onto the soft white snow and was swallowed into the darkness of her unconscious mind.
Oh snap! What's going to happen next?
