Title: Beautiful, Kind But Sad
Timeframe: Intertrilogy
Characters: Leia Organa, Padmé Amídala
Summary: Someone visits young Leia… even if it's only in her dreams.
Notes: I wrote this vignette some time ago and well, on the other day I was doing nothing and decided to type it and send it to my beta-reader. She said she liked it, and my best friend also said that, so I decided to post it. By the way, Pelly, thank you for beta-reading this!
Disclaimer: All the characters are property of Uncle George, and I'm not doing any money with this little thing, I just wrote it for fun.
Beautiful, Kind But Sad
She has the most magnificent eyes I've
ever seen. Brown eyes. Eyes that transmit peace, love but also
sadness.
She is beautiful. She's like me – or better, I'm
like her. After all, it was she who gave me life.
She smiles. "Never look back. Go on. Always. Don't look back. " , she says, keeping a calm face.
Since the beginning of the dreams she tells me that, I don't understand why. I don't understand the meaning of those words. Would it be possible that those words had something to do with something that would happen in the future?
While I think about this, she sits down by my side and hugs me. I know it is only a dream. I know I will never feel this hug, in reality, from my –real– mother. I know that she is dead.
But in my dreams she is still alive. In my dreams, she
hugs me and whispers kind words in my ear.
In my dreams, I look
at her and I see through her. I can feel what she feels. She's
beautiful, kind but sad. Sad perhaps because she does not live, in
reality and because she is not part of my life; sad perhaps of
something that I am not aware of, but, certainly, one day will.
In my dreams, she is alive. In my dreams, I have the pleasure to meet her.
She is Padmé Amídala, former Queen and Senator of Naboo.
But, more than that… she is my mother.
