"Right there is the big dipper... And the little dipper is right there." Aflons murmured as he traced the stars with his outstretched finger, hoping Ed could see the constellations with his guidance. He let his hand fall slowly back to his side on the rooftop, brushing against Ed's in the process, but... he left it there, letting their hands touch as they continued to gaze at the night sky. Ed was warm, compared to his chilled skin. It felt nice... and welcoming.
"You're cold…" Ed mumbled as he stretched his hand out and placed his palm against Alfons', slowly lacing their fingers together. His cheeks took on a pink hue as he raised his eyes, meeting and locking with Alfons' icy-blue ones. He couldn't look away, but even if he could, he didn't want to. Something about being up here, late at night, (or was early in the morning?) he felt a stronger connection between the two of them. It was unexplainable as he stared deeply into the depths of those blue eyes. The silence around them was perfect, but… Ed felt as if he should say something. He cleared his throat softly.
"You're like a rocket," Ed whispered, "because you're out of this world."
Alfons erupted into a fit of laughter. He had to sit up and remove his hand from Edward's to clutch his stomach as his body shook uncontrollably. Words wanted to come out, but his guffaws wouldn't allow him to even choke out a single understandable word.
Ed frowned. He knew it was stupid, how it came out, but…
"Forget it... " Ed muttered as he stood, clenched his hands into tight fists, and started towards the ladder leaning precariously against the side of the house.
"N-no!" Alfons managed out as he swiftly leaned forward and took hold of Ed's prosthesis ankle. It took him a moment to compose himself, letting out his last few chuckles, before he looked up to meet Ed's hurt gaze. His smile instantly vanished. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have laughed. Just… please stay."
Hesitantly, Ed sat back down in his place next to Alfons, allowing his hand to be held again as he focused back up at the twinkling stars. He could feel Alfons' eyes on him, but he ignored it, being stubborn as usual. They sat there for a moment, Alfons parting his lips to speak a few times, but then closed them, unable to say what he wanted, so...
"Hey, Ed… Look at me."
As soon as Edward turned, he felt a pair of lips press against his.
"You're the sun." Alfons whispered as their lips separated and he placed his forehead against Ed's. "Because you're, uh… um, you're hot." His cheeks flushed considerably, and all Ed could do was chuckle softly before leaning back in for another kiss.
"...And I'm the moon," Alfons mumbled into the kiss. Ed pulled away to let him speak. "Because without you I wouldn't shine."
