Title: Out of the Shadows
Author: Eli
Rating: PG
Summery: The final part of a night that never ends. Sequel to "To Stand in the Shadows."
Note: Just in case there is confusion, this fanfic is from Sara and Ian's perspective at the same time.
Disclaimer: If I did own it, many of you would be well paid writers.
Damn, a minute there I thought I would be able to get some sleep.
Will the witchblade give her no rest tonight?
No luck for me; do I have sedatives?
This is the third night she's used those pills. That can not be good.
I'm out all ready? Talk about addictive. This is going to be a long night. What to do? Ow! Oh, don't you even start up!
She's getting a vision. I guess the gods have gone deaf to my prayers.
Okay, why do I see Gabe and myself instead of people dying?
Well, at least she seems not to be in pain.
Why can't I hear anything? What's going on? Nottingham? What is he doing here?
Spoken too soon and it can only get worst.
Dante?! Is this a vision or a nightmare? Now we just need Irons and we're all set. Wait! What the hell is he doing?! Don't! I have to stop him, he can't!
What is the witchblade showing her? I've never seen her like this.
"No! Nottingham!"
Did she just call me?
"Ian!" The lady's in trouble.
Oh God! No!
"Sara, wake up, Sara!"
"Ian, what the hell were you thinking?"
"What displeases you, Sara? Do you want me to leave?"
"No! No, I just saw.."
"What did you see?"
"You died."
"Oh." Then why was she screaming? "My death would affect you?" You're an idiot to hope against hope, Ian.
"Yes! Why wouldn't it?" Have I been that heartless towards him?
"I have come to the conclusion that you hate me. Am I mistaken?" Let me be wrong.
"I don't hate you!" I have! This has gone on long enough.
"What is you're emotion towards me then?"
I can't say it. What if his has changed? I need to know. "What are your emotions toward me?"
Does she really think I no longer care? I have to tell her. I can't find the words. Damn it, Ian, say it.
Say it.
Say it. "I love you." There you go.
Thank you God!
Let it out. "It has never changed nor will it." How do you feel? I can't take this.
Time to show him the light. "I love you, too."
What?! Is she lying? If this is some trick, I couldn't bear it. "I would give you anything you wanted despite your feelings; you need not say such things if they aren't honest."
Why won't he believe me? "I'm telling the truth. Is it really that hard for you to believe me?"
Yes. If only you knew what I have been told about this. How he claims you as his. I can't leave him. But if you're not lying, maybe.
This is hard for him. Damn Irons! He has to choose. "I'm not lying. Do you believe me?"
She isn't lying. Could I give it all up for her? Even life itself? "Yes, I do."
It is done. Step into the light, Ian.
No more darkness, no more loneliness, no more shadows.
