Kendall Knight proudly wore his beloved shades on a bright, sunny Tuesday. Though it wasn't his day off, he was thrilled to move on. That was his quote that he claimed to live by these days.
Move on. The two simple and small words with plenty of different meanings. In this case, he was moving on after his past relationship with Jo Taylor. Clearly, they did not work out. Still, Kendall figured out that by moping around for days will lead him to nowhere. Besides, he realized that he was way better for her and that she was never interested in him anyways. Sure, it hurt him to face the truth. But hell, the truth is the truth. Nothing can change it.
I know the sun still shines when you're not around...
Kendall observed the area, staring up at the semi-cloudy sky. The day was perfect, and he wasn't going to let Jo ruin his opportunity to live life to the fullest.
I'm taking it easy in the worst part of town...
It was a true fact. He was hanging out by himself at a local park. Ironic enough, the park was known to attract couples of both young and old because of its nature and its surroundings. Of course some part of Kendall felt lonely and depressed, but he was stronger than that. He could take a crowded place filled with irritating lovebirds any day if he wanted or needed to.
And now I find it wasn't meant to last...
Another genuine statement. It all began when Jo started to accuse him for being too overprotective for her liking and hateful towards Jett. Was it a crime to care and want for a loved one to be safe? Was that not what other people concluded after the news of Jett screaming at a little 4-year-old girl and her helpless Beagle? Kendall could have sworn that he had a good mind and heart. He was being reasonable for the matter.
I have one thing to say, and that's "Thanks for nothing, kiss my ass."
Kendall gladly declared his love for that line through the power of technology. To be more specific, he sent it to Jo through texting. Still, he hasn't received a reply but wonders what she will say.
As if on cue, his phone vibrated. He brought it out and read the message aloud to himself.
Ditto, you heartless fool. -Jo
Kendall snickered and rolled his eyes. He shouldn't have expected something more complex and sophisticated. Sure, Jo tended to act like a spoiled brat, but that didn't mean she had the brains of a totally preppy teenage girl from those cliché movies, shows, and books. No, her brain was much smaller.
Huh. Maybe Kendall was a heartless fool after all.
A/N: Just a random one-shot that my mind came up with as I became obsessed with the song "Thanks For Nothing" by The Downtown Fiction. No need to review, though. Ha. It was fun writing it at like 12:30 A.M. underneath my bed sheets last night on my Nook. And no, I don't have a Word Document app there or whatever. I typed it as a saved draft in one of my email accounts. Yup. I'm that pathetic and ridiculous. :)
