The Fairy And The Dragon, ever after?
Callen wasn't used to happy endings with cases. This one tested him until the end. He thought he had it under control. Until he found out that Clary had not one, but two families. Clary's "only regret wasn't finding his Vietnamese family" was like a stab in the chest for G.. Callen could only wish that someone had tried to find him and Amy (before she died) and they could be some sort of family. But no-one had looked and G still didn't know who he 'really was'.
His past haunts him on nights when he thinks about the case they had just closed with the 'happily ever after' ending.
No it's not fair that G is comparing his life to Mae and Taun's but they were taken from their home and brought to America just as he had years ago. Callen thinks that Mae and Taun's story was similar to his in the way in which they were taken from a place they called home and brought to this new land and forced into this life, which was so far from the naturally realm they were used to, in America. True, G had no real memories of his childhood, only the toy soldier on the beach in Prague given by a stranger, and he hadn't suffered the brutal slavery as Taun and Mae had, but he couldn't help compare their lives with his own.
