Colonel Cameron Mitchell stepped through the Stargate into the SGC gate room along with the rest of his team. He saw a familiar female face smiling up the ramp at him. He frowned because Ms. Cari Michealson, a member of General Landry's staff, was never in the gate room. All of the SG teams knew her because she was responsible for proofreading and filing mission reports for the team.
She smiled, as always, to the entire team and said. "Hello. I hope all went well."
Cameron tilted his head. "As well as could be expected, I suppose."
She nodded. "I need to speak to you about the Super Bowl, Colonel."
Cameron held up his hand and winced. "No. Don't tell me. It's bad enough that my Cowboys didn't make it, but to be off-world during the most important game of the year…"
"I recorded it for you." She bounced on the balls of her feet. "And the entire base has been instructed by General Landry to not – under any circumstances – not speak about it to you or any member of your team. It's cued up for you in your quarters."
Cameron looked at Samantha Carter, who smiled and shrugged. Then he turned and grabbed both of Cari's hands. "Will you marry me?"
Cari laughed out loud. "Sure, if this thing I got goin' on with my current husband doesn't work out…" She leaned toward him, conspiratorially. "But, Colonel, I'm a Bears fan."
Cameron released her hands and put a hand to his heart as if struck and she waved him off, walking away with a laugh.
"How great is that?" he asked.
"Really great," Daniel said, slowly. "If you're into that sort of thing."
"I am. Well," he said. "I will be unreachable for the next four hours."
"Uh, Cam," Samantha said. "Dr. Lam and General Landry?"
Cam stopped and thought, then nodded. "After that, I will be unreachable for four hours."
Sam shook her head, grinning, as they filed out of the gate room on their way to the infirmary.
