Where do you go when you die?

"Bro! Bro!" Dave ran over to his Bro, clinging to his leg. Bro looked away from the video he was editing for his puppet site, ruffling Dave's hair.

"Sup lil' man?" Dave bit his lip and put his hands on Bro's thigh, looking up at him over his pointed glasses.

"Where do you go when you die?"

Bro blinked in surprise, the action masked by his shades. He picked up Dave, placing him on his lap and letting out a soft sigh. A few moments of silence passed before Bro started talking.

"Honestly, no one really knows for sure. Some people think you'll go to Heaven and be with everyone you love who's died. Other people think that when you die, you come back as something until you get your life right. You could come back as a crow for all anyone knows."

"I don't wanna be a crow." Dave interrupted, a frown on his face. Bro chuckled and ruffled Dave's hair again.

"Neither do I, kid. But there are some people who believe that there is nothing after death. Some people think that when you die, that's the end. You just sit and rot. Nothing else happens after that." Bro paused for a moment, considering his words for a second. "I don't know what brought this on, but just know that whatever happens, you won't have to know what it is for a while. Okay, shit, that sounded bad. What I'm trying to say is you won't die any time soon. I promise."

"Thanks, but that's not really what I was asking." Dave said, turning so he was looking up at Bro. "I meant what happens when you die?"

"Dave, where'd this come from all the sudden?" Bro looked down at Dave, raising his eyebrows.

"I had a dream and it looked like you were dead." Dave shrugged, as if he were just saying the type of sandwich he had for lunch that day. "I was curious."

"Well, I'm not sure what'll happen when I die. It's not exactly something I like to think about."

"Would I have to live with a new Bro?" Bro paused, biting his bottom lip.

"Yeah, probably."

"I don't want a new Bro." Dave frowned, nuzzling his head into Bro's chest.

"Hey, I ain't dead yet, kid." Bro said, pulling Dave into a headlock.

"I'm glad. Hey bro, can I have some apple juice?" Bro nodded and Dave hopped off of his lap, running into the kitchen. Once Dave was out of sight, Bro leaned back in his chair, letting out a long sigh.

"Fuckin' kid," Bro muttered before going back to editing his video.

Dave walks over to the body on the ground, careful not to break his poker face. Careful to not let Terezi know he cares. Careful not to cry. Careful not to let anyone know he cares that his brother is lying dead in front of him. He chuckles weakly to himself, suddenly glad Bro didn't spend as much time with him as a kid. It makes it so much easier to keep up the façade of not caring.

"I guess you're figuring out what happens after you die."

AN: Because fuck canon reactions. Also, sorry for killing feels. Also, I seriously need better ending one liners.

Anyway, yeah. This is a thing. I don't even know.
