Awkward.
This is awkward.
Elizabeth mused darkly as the thrice damned pirate calmly placed his hat on his head, adjusting it so it fit just right. He took a moment to look pleased with himself, before smiling pleasantly at them.
At least Barbossa had the decency of looking condescending, the blonde woman groused privately as she and the rest of their rather patched up crew stared in fascination at the lost-and-found pirate, this idiot just looks as he had been out taking a walk, not dancing in the insides of a bloody squid.
Elizabeth thinned her lips.
I'm never eating squid again.
But in all honestly, what could she say? Jack seemed to be expecting... well, something. He had that stupid glint in his eyes, and his stupid hair was stupidly waving with the late afternoon dusk. 'Hey there,' was moronic, not to mention lame, and 'death certainly treated you well' was just plain rude.
Elizabeth bit her lip.
Then, Jack said:
"Is there any rum around?"
And Elizabeth snapped.
With a shriek, she launched herself at him, all worries and awkwardness evaporating under the sudden need to kill him. Will scrambled to hold her back.
That... that idiot! They had spent weeks sailing on unfriendly water, they had battled other pirates, they had had to stand Barbossa. And all he could do was ask for more rum?
Elizabeth saw red.
"Sword! Give me a sword!"
Jack seemed to deem his lovely hide in danger and stepped back slowly, raised hands in a placating manner.
"Now, love, there's no need for violence, good ol' Capitan just wants a bit of rum to celebrate, no need to get violent, savvy?"
"I'm going to kill you!"
Then Jack grinned, that blasted crooked grin that made every man aboard cringe.
"Already did that once, didn't ya love?"
Silence was thick as Elizabeth stared at him, gaping. Her eyes narrowed dangerously as she stomped her foot. He made her so damn angry!
"But you're going to stay dead this time!"
