The Figure
My vision was blurry. I tried to speculate the figure standing before me. His microscopic, red, glowing eyes suddenly blinked and everything around me brightened, as if I was inside a lightning bolt. The diction in his voice was clear and cold. He spat out each word to me: "Die, Jared, die!" My surroundings became clear, as my heart slowed to find the figure gone. I looked around, confused. Where did he go? My forehead and the back of my neck had beads of sweat forming on them.
"We will have to postpone your death, Jared!" I could only hear his deep, growling voice. Fear jumped in my chest, banging everywhere in my ribs. I stood alone on the cliff for a few minutes, breathing hard. Even thought the hooded figure didn't harm me or touch me in any way, I still felt pain bubbling inside me. Two seconds later, the sky was clearing up even more. Birds were chirping, butterflies flying, sun shinning; as if the encounter with the strange figure never happened. Then suddenly, I gasped as I fell to the ground, blackness surrounding me, as I went deaf.
