Just a little thingy I whipped up. I love Tokka, it's my absolute favorite A:TLA ship, but, I mean, who doesn't love a little Yukka? =D Totally un-beta'd, so...yeah.

On nights like this, he thinks of her. This night, especially.

Not a cloud in the sky, the stars shine so brightly, they're like a million white flames.

He can hear them inside the house, the youngest complaining about something their sibling had said, the eldest defending themself.

He smiles at the youngsters, then sighs, turning his head back up towards the sky.

He allows his mind to drift back, twenty years ago that day. He still remembers like it was yesterday.

Her selfless sacrifice, the way he felt as though his heart had been ripped in to a million pieces, and how no one could possibly ever put it back together.

The way her lips pressed against his for the second-and final-time.

The way he wished there was some way he could have taken her place.

He came to realize in the days and weeks after that, though, that he couldn't allow himself to become a shell of himself, couldn't allow himself to think of how things could of gone differently. So he moved on. The war ended. He started a family with the woman he loved. Peace reigned true over the land.

He never forgot, though. Never. He couldn't. All he had to do was look in to star-filled sky, and she was there.

He loved his wife. He loved his children.

On nights like this, though, he can't help but think of her.
