"He's gone…" Gray sat next to Erza as her tears fell. He sighed and looked at her.
"Yeah I know." He hated talking about Jellal with Erza. Ever since Ultear's passing, he's been feeling depressed; with the added stress of Jellal's disappearance with Meredy and Erza becoming a complete wreck, he had no clue what to do. He stretched his arms out and sighed.
"You really care about him, don't you?" She said nothing as she wiped the tears off with her arm. Gray continued, "Listen, if Jellal feels the same way, then he'll come back. I promise you that."
She sniffed and giggled. "You think so?"
"Please, I always keep my promises," he said, puffing his revealed chest out haughtily.
Erza laughed softly before looking away from him. "You really know what to say to make a girl happy, don't you?" He merely shrugged.
"How do you do it?"
"Do what," he asked, a little curious as to what she was asking.
"How do you move on so easily?" He scoffed at her. Erza turned around, alarmed at his reaction.
"Gray…I," he wrapped his arms around her shoulder and pulled her closer. Her eyes widened before she momentarily snuggled into his warmth.
"Easily? Nah. How do you think I felt when I realized that both Ur and Ultear died basically trying to save me? It fucking hurts." He slammed his fist into the dirt, gritting his teeth in anger. "It's not easy to move on from them. But, I have you guys to help cope with the pain of losing someone precious to me." He grinned at Erza. He began to rub his fingers gently across her shoulders making her sigh. "You'll be fine Erza, he won't be gone forever. And you can have your boyfriend back when he does."
She pulled away from him, looking astonished by his statement. "Gray…you misunderstand. Our relationship is nothing of that sort!"
"Seriously? You guys kissed, and he grabbed your breasts, I'm pleasantly surprised." She snorted, before blushing at her unladylike conduct.
"You're so fun to tease." That got him a punch in the arm, which only made him laugh harder. His laughter subsided as he stared at Erza's pouty cheeks.
"See? You stopped crying." She crossed her arms, still carrying the annoyed look. "Oh chill out Erza." His mood changed when she wrapped her arms around him, burying her face in the crook of his neck. His face turned an unhealthy shade of red as he awkwardly placed his arms around her waist.
"What would I do without you," she asked softly, her voice muffled slightly.
"I dunno, get fat from eating strawberry cheesecake? You really need to regulate that shit, I'm surprised you've always looked good with all of that junk in your system."
"Oh, you think I look good?" Gray hastily pulled Erza away from him and stood up; looking away from her in hopes she didn't see his embarrassment.
"We uh, we should go." She snickered at him before looping her arm with his.
"Yes, let's go."
