A/N: Just a little something I threw together for Valentines' day. I was feeling kinda sad and needed a pick me up…I feel better already! (oh, italics are thoughts)
Valentines day was not usually a good day for Inoue Orihime. It almost always ended with some sort of failed attempt of telling Ichigo how she felt about him, but she was happy this Valentines Day, she had a feeling it was going to be a good one.
Sitting at her low front room table, she fingered the large heart shaped card she had made the night before. It was red and sparkly and plainly said "I Love You, Kurosaki-kun"; now all she had to do was sign it. Mou... I'm too scared… Sadly, Inoue Orihime couldn't do it. She just couldn't. But that doesn't mean I can't still give it to him! He just won't know it's from me… Satisfied with her solution, Orihime jumped up from the floor, grabbed her school bag, and dashed out the door, if her plan was still going to work, she had to be at school before anyone else got there.
Good, the coast is clear! Orihime had successfully arrived at her classroom at Karakura High before any of her classmates. She gently eased open the door and flicked on the light switch, filling the room with light. She made her way over to Ichigo's desk and placed the Valentine neatly on top, with the "I Love You" side facing up. I really should sign it… Steeling her nerves, she grabbed her pen and was just about to sign her name at the bottom when inspiration hit her. Oh, I know! I'll say it's from a secret admirer! She put "From your Secret Admirer" at the bottom and stepped back to look at her handiwork. Perfect.
Suddenly she heard chatter outside the window. It was almost time for the first bell to ring and students were starting to arrive. Orihime made her way to the door, taking one last look back before shutting it behind her.
It was worth it. All the time it took getting the glitter to stay on just right, all the time she spent making sure her handwriting was legible, even getting up extra early to deliver it when no one would see. It was all worth seeing the look on her Kurosaki-kun's face when he saw that Valentine sitting on his desk. Orihime watched, captivated (though trying not to appear to be) as he picked it up and stared at it. She felt a jolt go through her when he turned and look right at her.
She whipped around as quick as she could, trying not to look like she was looking. (Even though she was.) He doesn't know it was from me! Why is he looking over here? There 's no way he could know! She could hear one her classmates, no doubt Keigo, teasing him to no end, but it was interrupted by a "Hey, where are you going?"
Orihime flicked her eyes up from her desk only to see Ichigo coming right over to her. Oh, no! Oh, NO!
"G-Good Morning, Kurosaki-kun!" said Orihime when he reached her desk, trying her best to give one of her beaming smiles. "Oh, what's that? You got a Valentine, that's so nice! Does it say-"
"I know this is from you, Inoue." Interrupted Ichigo.
"W-What…Why do you think it's from me?"
"You're the only one who calls me 'Kurosaki-kun'."
"Oh, right…He he…" Orihime could feel her face heating up. I guess my secret's out now.
Orihime watched as Ichigo pulled his cellphone out of his pocket and flipped it open and began rapidly pressing buttons. Then he closed it and slid it back into his pocket and looked back at her. She was just about to ask him what he was staring at when she felt her own cellphone vibrate in her skirt pocket. She took it out and opened it. It was a text message from Ichigo reading "Thanks for the Valentine, I love you too."
Orihime looked back at Ichigo, her eyes wide with shock, to see him smiling, faintly, down at her. She soon felt herself smiling back.
Yep, today was definitely a good Valentines Day.
And that's it. Review please! :)
