Standing at the end of the slytherin common room at one o'clock in the morning was a thin, blonde slytherin. His name was Draco Malfoy and he was in deep thought of what he had gotten himself into.

He rolled up the sleeve on his left arm and there it was, the Dark Mark.

He felt stupid 'there's no point being a death eater, he's gonna kill you anyway' was what Draco often thought.

Draco Malfoy was the prince of slytherin but now he's a death eater recruit.

He had no idea what to do since he's been given a task to do in order to prove himself to the Dark Lord. He had to do it, he didn't want to look stupid in front of all the other young death eaters.

"Mind if I join you?"

Draco was startled. Descending from the girls' dormitory was someone had never noticed before.

"Um... sure I guess" Draco said looking confused at who would be awake at a time like this with nothing to worry about.

"Why are you up so early?" the girl asked.

"Thinking. You?"

"Couldn't sleep coz it was my brothers' funeral."

"Who are you?" Draco said not caring how rude he sounded.

"Kaitlin Marshall and I know your Draco Malfoy." Kaitlin was a second year with black hair and brown eyes. She was rarely noticed by other students and so liked to keep it that way.

"Who's your brother?" Draco asked looking curiously at Kaitlin.

"His name was Josh and he just finished Hogwarts last year."

"What happened to Josh?"

"He…erm… got kidnapped by death eaters'. They came and took him, two days later he was found dead near a cemetery. I think it was that snake that calls himself Voldemort." Kaitlin looked down as a tear dropped

Draco, however, looked shocked. He just remembered something. He was at a death eater meeting when Avery Nott dragged in a guy who looked around nineteen, this he supposed was Josh. Draco stood and watched as this man was being tortured for information he didn't know. Then he was murdered ruthlessly to be discovered dead.

Draco walked over to the girl and sat next to her. He didn't know what to say so they just sat in silence until Kaitlin spoke up.

"So what are you thinking about?"

"A lot of things but for now I want to go sleep and try to clear my head a bit. You should do the same."

"Ok." Kaitlin got up and climbed the girls' dormitory with a small "thanks" that could be heard.

Draco heaved a sigh then silently went to bed.
