"NATSU!"
The shrill scream echoed throughout the building. Lucy, her hair was a mess and tears were streaming down her cheeks. She gripped, with one hand, onto the person who she loved the most.
"Lucy! Don't let go!" Natsu cried.
His face was also messy and soaked with tears. His grip on Lucy's hand was slipping, but he held on tighter, clinging to his beloved.
They were being pulled apart from each other. How could he be so blind as to let this happen? Whoever was trying to pull them apart was strong. Natsu could barely hold on. Desperately, he tried to fight off his attackers, but their grip on him only became stronger.
Lucy's other arm felt like it was about to rip, Multiple hands were trying to pull her apart from Natsu. She could feel Natsu's hand slowly slipping away from her, forever.
Where were their friends? Lucy thought. Why aren't they here? Don't they know what was about to happen?
Lucy's head was a blur. She could barely remember what happened earlier, but now, all she needed to do was hold on, no matter what.
"Lucy, fight it! Don't let go of me!" Natsu said, trying to fight off the unknown enemy. Still, he wasn't strong enough. Using the last ounce of his strength, he tried to burn his attackers with his flames, but it didn't work.
"Natsu, help me!" Lucy cried again, more tears streamed down her face.
The image tore Natsu's heart out. Why wasn't he strong enough.
"I'm sorry, Lucy!" Natsu said, crying now. "I'm not strong enough!"
The declaration was a first for Natsu. Countless times, he had fought and defeated his enemies. Before now, he always had the strength to fight off any enemy, overcome any obstacle. So now, when he needed his strength the most, it just wasn't there. He wasn't strong enough and now, he'll pay the price for it.
Lucy couldn't remember the last time in which she was in such a desperate situation. Who knows what could happened if she let go of Natsu. She might never see him again.
"Natsu, I don't care! Just don't let go of me!"
She knew, however, that it was a hopeless situation. Their captives were growing in numbers and strength, and Lucy could barely fight back with the remaining amount of strength she had.
"We'll get out of this, Natsu!" Lucy shouted. Her determination grew stronger. "We're Fairy Tail Wizards!"
"Damn right!" Natsu roared. He pulled harder Lucy's hand harder, and he felt some of his attackers losing their grip on him.
"Just a little more!" Natsu shouted to Lucy.
"Natsu, dammit, let go of her already!" Gray yelled, holding his reddened hand as he let go of Natsu.
Natsu had finally succeeded in burning his hand. So much for ice magic. Gray watched as the male members of Fairy Tail attempted to pull Natsu apart from Lucy, and the female members struggling to pry Lucy off of Natsu.
"Gajeel, I'd thought you'd do better than that!" Gray said.
"I'm trying!" Gajeel growled, trying to pull Natsu. How was Salamander that strong? He'd already ran out of magic, yet he was still struggling.
"Lu-chan, please let go!" Levy said.
"Natsu!" Lucy cried. "Help me!"
"It's no use!" Erza said, pulling Lucy with her incredible strength. "They're delusional!"
Mirajane stood nearby, watching the two groups attempt to pry the lovers apart.
"I don't understand." She mused, holding an empty potion bottle.
"I didn't think it would be that strong."
"Let me see that, Mira-chan." Gray said, grabbing the potion bottle.
He read the instruction label.
"Mira-chan, it says use one drop for maximum effect." Gray said, raising his eyebrow. "How much did you use?"
Mira smiled sheepishly.
"The whole bottle."
