She paused in front of the main hall. It had not been her intention to do so. No, had it been any other day she would have strode inside without a moment's hesitation. Wether to complain about life's nasty way of ruining a woman's beauty, or simply because she needed some down-time. Never-ever, had there been any second thoughts concerning her walking through the doors. It's because Kid would get annoyed if I interrupted his important, 'reaper-stuff'. She wrestled with herself. It wasn't as if she had never interrupted, or in some way, distracted him before- in fact, one might say it was usually what she did best. Naturally, today was different. It wasn't because Kid happened to have his shirt open at the collar, nor was it the fact that he seemed completely oblivious to the girl outside in the corridor. It wasn't even that his general appearance seemed amplified in the pale light of the moon outside, no- she had not hesitated just for the sake of googling her meister. So what left her frozen outside the room, still frantically debating what to do? The more she thought about it, the more she wanted it, and the more she wanted it, the longer she ended up standing outside like a love-sick idiot.

Would he like it? I guess there's only one way to tell... No, no, no, Liz! What would he say to you!? Oh dear god, this is absolutely ridiculous- I can totally pull this off, no problem! What am I thinking... of course I can't!

It had never occurred to Liz Thompson, that on this rather trying day in which there had been nothing amusing, a very rare, very subtle, opportunity to kiss Kid (and get away with it), had presented itself. In the end, she would never have been able to forgive herself had she walked away and let it slip by.

Theoretically speaking, Kid was in shock.

He did not know how to react simply because he had never been kissed by anybody, let alone the one person he may have just realized he had feelings for. One minute he was distastefully regarding the volume in front of him, and then, quite suddenly her lips had grazed his cheek. The faint scent of leather mingled with hints of floral still lingered in the air around him, ... and he was still spluttering trying to find words.

"L- Liz, what- what was that?"

And, standing with her back pushed against the doors, a faint smile playing upon her flushed face, Liz quietly observed as he continued to sit there. Hand still raised in disbelief to his cheek, a hint of pink creeping into that handsome face of his.
