Dear Fred,
How on earth do you expect me to help at the shop this week? I have a ton of work to do- Snape assigned 48 inches due tomorrow, there's an Arithmancy exam in two days, and McGonagall hinted heavily at an exam on Friday. I've hardly begun to master anything more difficult than crinus muto! Of course I am much better than Ron. (although I suppose that's to be expected) He tried it a few days ago in class and ended up with a quite impressive handlebar mustache. The only problem I ran into was keeping my eyebrows purple for longer than ten seconds. Blonde and black I could handle, but anything more festive and the colour simply refused to stick! Now, back to the point- I might be able to run by in the evening tomorrow… Normally I would be helping Ron and Harry with their work, but seeing as "Won-Won" has been glued to Lavender's face for the last week, I've been steering clear of the common-room. I have to admit- a breath of fresh air would be welcome.
Regards,
Hermione Granger
Hermione,
I have serious trouble believing that little miss "brightest-witch-of-her-age" could possibly fail to master a spell. Although, the eyebrow thing I do believe. Purple on you? Please. You're simply too mature for a terrible, unruly, reckless, fun colour like that. A bookworm like you with purple eyebrows. Imagine it- People would be rioting in the streets! No, no. The world just isn't ready for Fun Hermione. Sorry about Ron by the way. You'd think he'd never met a girl before. The things George and I have heard about those two… I can only be glad that we aren't around to see it. Speaking of Ron, sales in Puking Pastilles have gone down as of late. Now I know why. Who needs them when they can turn around and see Ron shoving his tongue down Lavender's throat? The next time we see him, George and I will give him a stern talking to. (Which may or may not include a few Ginny-worthy Hexes) I know it can't be fun for you around Hogwarts right now, and what place can offer more fun than the shop? I can't wait to see you tomorrow- I just know that you're the only one gifted enough to help us out.
See you soon,
Fred
