The universe was vast.

You would have to be stupid not to realize that, and Sora, contrary to popular belief, was not stupid. Simple, yes, naïve, yes, but not stupid.

And it was because of this that he knew that finding a single person in the whole, immeasurable universe was nearly an impossible effort. Where was he even supposed to start? Where would he end? Would he ever get home?

But he knew one more thing.

He knew that the person he sought after was more important to him than words could say. Their hearts were connected, and not even infinite spaces of foreboding darkness was going to keep him from searching until he found his friend and brought him safely home.

So you may call the Keyblade Master a stupid, ignorant dreamer. But he was going to find his friend, because the universe may be vast, but Sora's heart was vaster.
