"What if she doesn't get her happy ending?"

"No! Sasuke, no!" sobbed Sakura as she looked at her fiancée's mangled body. Sasuke smirked weakly at her.

"Don't…cry…Sak…ura…" Sasuke said quietly.

Sakura bit her lip as she tried to heal Sasuke. She let out a sob every now and then. Sasuke had returned from the Akatsuki and asked Sakura to marry him after dating Sakura for two years.

Then Pein and the Akatsuki appeared.

They attacked…leaving nothing pure and perfect. Killing the innocent, wrecking everything…

"No…NO!" yelled Sakura as she felt Sasuke's pulse slowly wither away…pleasenonono

"Sakura…I…love you…." Sasuke whispered before smiling a bit. Dontleavemeplease….

It was too late…Pein himself fought Sasuke…

His arm torn off…

His leg twisted at an odd angle…

Blood pooling everywhere…

… And a gaping hole next to his heart…

"Sa…ku…raaa…" breathed out Sasuke. His eyes closed.

Sakura's tears dripped onto Sasuke.

Drip

Drip

She bent down, slowly, and pressed her lips to Sasuke's. She shuddered. His lips already felt cold and…

Dead.

Sakura felt cold as the fact that her lover had died sunk in.

No…

"NO!" screamed Sakura in pain. The Konoha Twelve came up to stand behind Sakura as they finished off the last of the Akatsuki. They, too, had tears going down their faces.

Naruto came up to Sakura and put his hand on her shoulder. She stood up and flung herself into his arms. He slowly, slowly wrapped his arms around her. His eyes were hidden underneath his bangs. Tears were slowly dripping down his face.

"Hush Sakura-chan…you're fine…" She sobbed even harder. "I don't even have a remainder of him…oh my God…Sasuke…come back!" She screamed into Naruto's shoulder.

Sasuke had returned after a long eight years. Everyone was wary but Sakura embraced him with open arms. After a year everyone welcomed him. Even with his cold exterior, he wove his way into everyone's hearts. He had opened up more. The smallest things made him loved. After another year, he asked Sakura out. Another two years after that, he asked her to marry him. Happy times. With a what would be thought, happy ending.

Sakura let all her pain out. Inside her womb though, a new life was starting.

Sakura looked fondly down at her newborn child. Shikamaru smiled as he looked down too. His son. Their son. A small boy about 4 looked over the bed. His hair was black, his skin pale. His eyes were green. On his shirt there was a fan.

"Is this my brother?" he asked. Shikamaru and Sakura looked at him.

"Yes…Sasuke." Sakura said softly. "This is your brother."

Sakura smiled as she looked at her husband who was looking at their children. Well, one child and an adopted one. She remembered Sasuke and thinking that it was the end. That she would never be happy. That she would never get her happy ending. But then nine months later her little boy was born. Two years later, Shikamaru asked her out as a dare. But it grew into something more. Another year later, she was married. Nine months later this new life came into the world. She realized, as she leaned up to kiss Shikamaru lovingly, that there are no happy endings. Because new beginning happen after the so called "happy" endings.

"She won't…because nothing ever ends…"

SNAPSHOT

A pale figure with hair that was spiked in the back was smirking as he watched the happy couple and the two children. He watched the older boy lovingly, and slowly pressed his lips against the woman's hair.

"This is your new beginning…"
