"Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way to the castle beyond the Goblin city. For my kingdom is great and my will as strong as yours," the girl recited as though from a book. She did not know what strength words held in this realm, what they could do to people. But she wasn't to know that a Sidhe royal had fallen in love with a mortal.

"Sarah, please, look at what I'm offering you", the wild-haired Fey pleaded, "I hold your dreams in my hand. I could make them true."

Sarah needn't know that she was about to cause great chaos within the Labyrinth.

"You have no power over me," she stated firmly, crystalline tears rolling down pale cheeks. The Escher room around her dissolved and whirled about. And when she woke she was home in her bed, her baby brother asleep in his crib, safe and unchanged.

What she did not know was that, on the broken floor of the Labyrinth, lay the heart of the Goblin King, broken and lifeless.

Drabble I wrote in English as a free write. Sad ending. So sue me.
