Disclaimer: I don't own Narnia (Unfortunately) I wish I did and I tried to go when I was little. I still daydream about me being there, but unless requested you don't have to worry about me writing those kind of stories.

Gold

Peter stood on the balcony just outside his new room at Cair Paravel. He held his golden crown tentatively in his hands. There was only one question reverberating through his head; "did he deserve to be king? How could he? He hadn't even been able to keep his word to his mother, he hadn't kept his siblings safe and it had almost cost Edmund his life." This broke his train of thought and had you been there, you would have seen him flinch visibly at the thought of losing his little brother. He immediately banished this thought from his mind, hoping to forget what had happened at Beruna Peter knew he should be downstairs at the reception. It was one week after the battle of Beruna, and also the siblings' coronation night. He thought of his siblings. Susan, now Queen Susan the Gentle, the title was fitting he thought. For all her strength when she had to fight at all other times she was the epitome of gentleness. Edmund, now King Edmund the Just, he knew injustice, so who better to be the Just King. And then there was Lucy, now known to the world as Queen Lucy the Valiant. His baby sister was a queen, how could he accept that? She had always been brave, but never like this. Valiant though she was, Lucy was still so sweet and innocent had seen battle firsthand and he hated it.

This brought him back to the reason he had come up here. How could he deserve to be High King of Narnia? He turned his crown over with a sigh. After a few more minutes he went downstairs. He watched as Lucy and Edmund danced before Susan came and pulled Peter to the dance floor. As he danced he realized something: he didn't deserve to be High King, no one did. However he had been blessed with the oppurtunity to, along with his siblings, lead a country. He sighed contentedly as the dance ended and Susan stepped away. Then Lucy came and pulled, him back onto the dance floor for the next dance. As he danced with Lucy he knew that Narnia was now truly their home. Their crowns gold and silver were who they would become in the next years.

A/N: Drop me a review if you want. I appreciate them. Don't be afraid to criticize. I would love to say this is my first fanfic and outher than the ones I wrote a couple of years ago it is. However, I can't use that excuse if this is not good because I have written a book and am working on getting it published. Please review if you have the time.
