Falling

It suffocates you;
You cant breath for all its
Smothering.
Yet you inhale and exhale
Just for show.
They can see your chest rise
And fall,
[so therefore it's ok]
But they don't hear you scream.
[ they will never know]
And you refuse to pray.
What good has it ever done you?
He let the devil sing;
Let you down when you rose
To the challenge
O f having faith in
What you could never believe.
Crumbling and crushing,
Pinning you to your ruin.
It's all so stingingly clear,
As you look out,
Different this time.
They build up, those things
You swore you'd do later.
They've climbed to an impossible height;
They're promise clear in its looming slant.
Now it's falling apart
And the pieces are tumbling away.
You bleed to pick them up.
But you can only wish now
On those pieces
Falling like rain.
