A/N: There was a really bad thunderstorm in my area a few days ago, thus, a one-shot was born. I don't own the characters and such, for I am only a child. Enjoy.

Courtney Pov:
I jumped slightly as the first boom of thunder crashed above the roof of my apartment building. I live in Seattle, so thunderstorms are kind of the norm, especially this time of year.
But it's not the thunder that I liked. It was the lightning. The best thing ever, is when there is lightning after dark. Like tonight.
I was awoken from my trance by Duncan reaching over my and covering my eyes with his hands.
"Guess who," he whispered into my ear.
"Unless someone else has our spare key, I'm gonna say that it's you. Dork." I rolled my eyes and a smile crept across my face.
Duncan plopped next to me on the sofa and dramatically inhaled sharply, like he was deeply offended. "Aw, Princess, I'm hurt. I really am." Sarcasm dripped off of his voice.
"If I had a dollar every time you got your precious ego damaged," I mumbled and crossed my arms across my chest.
"Then you'd be broke, babe." He smirked and me and poked my side.
"Get bent," I laughed.
"I'd rather have you bent, Sweetheart." He winked.
"You're such a dick." Another crash of thunder presented itself.
"Want to go out to the balcony?" Duncan murmured into my hair, and I nodded.
The balcony of our apartment had a love seat sofa and an awning over it, so we wouldn't get wet when we watch the rain.
Duncan grabbed my hand and let me through the glass sliding door and out into the dark. He grabbed a blanket, and then enclosed the two of us into it. I buried my face into his chest as I wrapped my arms around his torso and whispered, "I love you."
"But I thought I was a dick," I couldn't see his face, but I could basically see the smirk on his face.
"Oh, you are. You're a lovely dick. Sort of. "I giggled. A flash of lightning ignited in the pitch blackness of the night sky. The only other lights were of other apartments, and streetlights.
Duncan gave me a genuine smile. "I love you too, Princess," he murmured and pecked my lips.
Another flash.
"Why do you love lightning so much?" Duncan wondered aloud.
"It's beautiful. And it's there for a split second, and then it's gone. And then, you anticipate it, because you don't want to miss any of it."
"Like you," he observed. His teal eyes burned into my chocolate ones.
I scrunched up my nose at him. "You're nice." I stuck my tongue at him.
"I. Am. Not. Nice." Duncan annunciated every syllable slowly.
"Yes you are. Aw, Dunkie is blushing," I joked and proceeded to stick my tongue out at him.
Duncan captured my lips with his and ended our little argument. Just then, another flash of lightning illuminated us. I broke the contact of our lips, and snuggled more into Duncan's faded, old tee shirt. I waited for another flash of light, and then fell asleep lying there with the love of my life.
