Bon Vivant: Laissez Faire

Her Lover's Spy

The young man ran, hard, down the dark hall. Underground the lighting was spaced far apart, and if it weren't for the fact that he was in a blind panic he would have imagined people or worse demons in the shadows. Knowing what had happened had not helped, he thought it would, but it had only made it worse, not better. Knowing the truth hadn't made it easier, any easier to understand why they were gone.

He ran farther into the dungeons beneath Hogwarts, the cold air doing nothing to calm his burning anger. Not knocking, he burst in the room to find a dark Potion's Master looking up inquisitively. He glowered down, his anger clouding his eyes, "Where the hell are they, you bastard!" He inarticulately growled as he flung himself at the older man, not gibing him a chance to answer. The assailant realized quickly after his lunge that ropes now bound him, the greasy git had bound him with a spell.

"Mr. Weasley. I know that you are loyal to Miss Granger and Mr. Potter, and I am quite sure that others would commend you for such. But attacking me will not help you!" The silkiness was back in his voice, asking Ron to attack him, to dare to try and draw his wand. As tempted as he was, he knew he would not be able to get free from his bonds, it was as simple as that.

"Now, if you can control yourself, I will release you, but if you go for your wand I will make sure you get detention until you graduate." Graduation was not that far away, and he really didn't care, he just wanted to know about Harry and Hermione, his best friends. They had disappeared last night and even Ginny didn't know where his best friend was. When he had found out from Hagrid that they were gone and something to do with Snape, Ron had dreaded the worst.

"Alright, I won't attack you, just tell me what happened to them." With a muttered word the professor released Ron from the ropes, leaving him to find a chair with a thump. Snape gave him the characteristic scowl and settled himself behind his desk, careful of the many potions on his desk. With an impatient twitch, Ron started in on his teacher. "Now, where is Hermione. and Harry?'

Snape quirked his eyebrow at Ron's phrasing but said nothing about it. Most of the school knew about Ron's crush on Hermione, and while the formidable Potion's Master overheard the gossip, he scoffed at it considerably. "Your two friends are currently doing some work for the Order, I assure you that everything will be fine. As much as I hate to admit, both are responsible young adults, and they have proven they can take care of themselves if push comes to shove. So I suggest, Mr. Weasley, that you go back to your dorm and get some sleep." It was a veiled dismissal, but one none the less and he didn't wish to push his luck any farther. He turned to leave and headed towards the door, but as the redhead left he heard a voice other than Snape's.

"Severus? I've already told Albus, but you better come as well, I might need your help. It's Harry and Hermione." Ron knew that voice, cursing Snape under his breath, he ran towards the hospital wing. If Hermione were hurt, if either of were hurt, he would strangle Snape himself.
