I'm finaly getting back into my center typing. Here is my english exam.
Part 1 of the exam starts now!
Zelda's Story (Once, by Morris Gleitzman)
I was running around playing with the chickens. Actually, I was meant to be counting them, but counting them was hard because they keep on moving.
'Darling!'
Oh drat. Mum wanted me to tell her if all chickens are there. I say they are. Then mum tells me to be good for dad.
'I always am. Don't you know anything?' I mutter under my breath. Dad always makes me do something I don't like. Just last week he asked me to clean out the hen house. I did. It was spotless. But dad always complained that I'd missed a spot here. Messed up the nest there. I sigh. This is going to be a long day. Also dad always calls me 'girl'. Really annoying.
'You girl, get over here.'
Oh-no. I can feel a hard task coming. I was right. I had to plough the fields. I complained.
'Dad, I'm only six. I'm not strong enough. Don't you know anything?'
Mum hears all of this. She tells dad off and brings me inside. Then we hear a loud noise. Mum tells me to go to my room. I can here dad speaking in a language I can't understand. It must be the Nazis. Dad tells me how great they are. I believed him to a point. It seems odd that we see a lot of dead Jewish people. My friend is Jewish. I found her dead last week. Now I don't believe dad. Mum believes dad. I don't tell anyone. If I do, I might get shot.
The Nazis are gone and I come out of my room.
'The Nazis are evil. Don't they know anything?' I whisper. Every day Nazis come and talk to dad. Then after that dad tells us about the Polish Resistance. To me it sounds like assistance. I didn't believe dad at all.
(70 minuet lesson up. Part 1 of exam finished)
(Part 2 of exam starts here)
One day people who spoke Polish came and started talking to mum and dad. They called them traitors and were trying to convince them that the Nazis were evil. Mum and dad were objecting. That's when I ran out of my room yelling my agreement with the Polish people. Then they left the house. I heard them strike something, and then smelt burning wood. Then the floor heats up. I scream. The house is on fire! Oh help. I run out of the house. I start crying. I can't find mum and dad anywhere. Then I trip on a rock and bruise my head. Then I am unconscious.
(A.N: This is where I got the book and changed it to Zelda's POV.)
When I wake up, I hear the crunch of boots. I am on someone's back. It's a boy. He keeps on asking me for my name. He keeps on looking at me then he looks ahead. He starts to walk faster.
'I need to rest,' he tells me. I stay silent. He goes to a haystack and puts me down. I stand and demand to see my mum and dad. He doesn't answer. I say it again and he tells me that we are going to the city. I asked for his name.
'I'm Felix,' he says. He asks me the same thing. I say more about wanting my mum. He keeps begging me to be quiet. Then he makes up a random story about sheep. One thought runs through my head. We don't have any sheep. Don't you know anything? He continues to make up stories. He tells me that if I lie down he'll tell me a story of when my parents took me on a picnic.
'We don't go on picnics,' I say. 'Don't you know anything?'
He tries again and again, and then he gives up. I lie next to him.
'Once,' he begins, 'there was a boy called William_'
'No,' I say. I point at myself, 'I'm a girl. (You know what's coming.) Don't you know anything?'
