She was in his arms, and as he held her close it seemed as if the whole world was gone. There was no one but the two of them, and for once, they could forget about the ongoing war. Bill, who was constantly worried for his siblings, some of which who would be coming home for summer in a few weeks, and Fleur, who was constantly afraid of loosing Bill, could escape for a short while and just… Forget.
It was in these moments that they felt they were entity now, moving as one through this horrible time. Tonight they were in Bill's flat in central London, and in complete peace, they stood in front of the tall window overlooking a busy city street. Bills arms were wrapped snuggly around Fleurs waist and his chin rested on her shoulder. They didn't speak. All they did was stare out at the view before them. When he was alone, Bill couldn't help but wonder how long that view would last, and how long it would be before You Know Who destroyed both magic and muggle world alike..
He sighed, not wanting to think about that now. Now, he was happy. He loved Fleur and there was no where he would rather be. He only wished there was a way to show it. Well, he knew what he wanted to do, but had been holding it off. Now though, when all his thoughts were lost, the words escaped his lips.
'Marry Me,' He purred. His words were barely a whisper, tickling Fleur's neck.
It seemed as if she took a moment to comprehend what he had said, but once she had she stepped away. 'What?' she asked, trying to figure out if he had truly meant what he said, or if it was just some passing though.
'Marry Me Fleur,' Bill said, more clearly than the first. 'I know I don't have a ring or anything, but I'll get one. It just- It seems right, and that we need to do this now.'
'Now? With everyzing going on? Ze war? Ow can it be safe?' There were clear signs of worry on her face, and her accent, which had diminished over the years was once again harder to understand, as it tended to get when she was angry or emotional.
'It will be okay' Bill said, reaching a hand out to rub her arm gently in comfort. He had had these exact fears as well, but he knew that it was the right time.
'But ow can it be?'
'Because we'll be together. If we don't do this now, we might not ever get the chance. I love you, and before… before whatever happens in this war, I want to marry you. Unless… you don't want to-'
He was cut of by Fleurs lips on his. Through his speech her worry had melted. It was still there, but he had brought her back into the state of safety, as he usually did. His words made her feel like nothing bad could ever happen to her.
'Yes,' she whispered against his lips.
