Eternal trickery!

By Readerpal

A/N: this is just a little poem I wrote in high school, awhile back. Enjoy!

Some think to live forever is a worthy goal, but for I and my two sisters it is not so.

Though we will exist eternally, our lives are often filled with no contentment.

Alongside this is a randomness that makes us wish every decade or so for the life of a human working with a backhoe.

We were once mere mortals who worshiped Hecate but more than a goddess of the wilderness and childbirth or even of sorcery, Hecate is of chaos.

In contrast to the gods that represent order and the status quo, she loves spontaneous happenings and panic.

However even she cannot be everywhere; he chose the selected her three most loyal followers to aid her in her endeavors.

Because chaos and order are eternal we were made as such.

But being immortal does not mean physical beauty is a guarantee.

For as agents of chaos irony and spite we were made hideous as our spiritual nature and mindset became dark and contemptuous.

With no true company but our own sense the days of Homer and Phrynichus, we eventually became bored of each other and separated ourselves by sieves moved by the winds.

Thus despite being freed from restlessness and boredom we know not where we shall go unless all three have agreed upon the place.

To see the personal affects of our havoc on a large scale is to trigger something akin to frustration in the organ which was once our hearts.

If our organs were to work correctly we would in fact puck upon holding the remains of a witch mummy, a reminder of our former mortality.

However despite all we sometimes still feel a bit of pride and happiness when our acts come out on a positive note.

As such we have a dark and sarcastic sense of humor and enjoy pointing out mortal flaws when we can.

Such was with Macbeth; we almost felt a tinge of pity for our task that year.

This was because where we mortals, having seen so much death we would have something in common and perhaps someone to talk to.

Now as I traveled up on the air, I wonder which way I will go!
