Summary: Kurt knew a lot of things, but he just didn't believe in anything he couldn't see with his own eyes.

Authors Notes: This is just an idea of what might have been going through Kurt's head throughout the episode. Points to anyone can name the song the title is from.

Kurt believed in things- he did, really. He believed in the gods of Prada, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen. They were constant- a new collection every season that never made him question their existence. But God? That was so distant, never seeming to be there. And if he had? Well, than he had a twisted sense of humor when it came to giving each person their lot in life.

So to have his dad in the hospital, no idea when he would wake up of if he would. That just seemed like another cruel twist of fate. Hadn't he already had his fill of that? Life wasn't fair, he knew that, but he never thought it could be as vicious as a sale at Tom Ford on Black Friday ( he had went once after begging his father for hours. He realized never to do that again.) But his dad had always allowed him to do things his own way as long as it didn't harm him.

All the things his dad had for him. Kurt didn't believe in much. He knew a lot, but didn't really believe in anything he couldn't see with his own eyes. But there were a few things he couldn't see all the time, but he believed in. He believed in his dad. Burt Hummel, probably of of the most straight manly men to walk the earth, was willing to play tea party with his very effeminate son. He would never get to have girl talks with him, or the grunts of agreement over a football game, but he loved him the way he was.

The last thing he believed was them- Burt and Kurt Hummel. Together, it felt like they could do anything they set their minds to. Fix a car, have murder mystery dinners, share a moment of parental bliss over a kicked football- every moment added up to a loving relationship built on the two of them. Kurt still remembers that day when his mother died- grabbing the proffered hand like a life-line. As he held the hand of his dad, ready to tell him all that had been going through his head, he grabbed his dad's hand. If his dad could be his life-line, then he could be his father's too.
