A Walk
Royai
YESH!
I finally got around to writing this idea that's been floating in my head for a month.
I love this sooooo much...
CAUSE IT'S ROYAI!
Edward Elric was cold.
Very cold.
Like that was going to stop his walk.
Ed went on a walk around Munich every day, stopping at the park that seemed to never change. His life had changed too much over the past four years and he enjoyed the consistency. Consistency was hard to come by.
However, Al tended to rupture that consistency. He seemed to want to point out every little detail of the trees or how people skated on the lake. But for some reason, Al was unusually quiet today. Ed jumped when he finally spoke.
"Brother, is it the fifteenth?" Al asked, half whispering.
"Yep," Ed replied as he plopped onto a park bench, "You've been here two years now." Al sat next to him, eyes somber. On the fifteenth, Al had come to Germany (much to Ed's surprise) willingly. Ed knew what was going on in Al's mind: he was lonely. They had met few of their old friends in their years in Germany. Sometimes he thinks Al regrets his decision.
Ed was thinking of all this until something caught his eye. He focused, trying to make out what it was. Ed started grinning when he realized what it was.
"Al, look." Ed said, nodding in that general direction. His smile lit his eyes in a way Al hadn't seen since they had crossed over.
"What is it?"
"Just look." Ed said, again nodding that way.
Hobbling down the path were a small family, a young girl clinging onto her father's coat and a baby snuggled in its mother's arms. The girl seemed to be completely absorbed in telling her father something and her mother laughed. Al started grinning like a fool when he too realized who they were.
Hobbling down the path were Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye, their two children in tow. Mustang must of notice the brothers staring, because he strutted up to them and said in an all too familiar tone...
"What are you looking at, shrimp?" He said, one eyebrow cocked.
And thus began the lifelong friendship between the two Elric brothers and a one Mr. and Mrs. Mustang.
