Disclaimer: The Selection Trilogy belongs to the lovely Kiera Cass, and no one else. Please don't sue me because I'm just a Fanfiction writer who wants to toy with her words and I do not wish to be slapped with a nasty lawsuit! :/
I was fire,
Working zealously with passion,
When boys my age,
Flirted with girls, played with a lyre;
She too was fire,
Her voice as clear as a sparrow,
Her eyes a luminous red,
Always set free around like a fiery halo;
We met years ago,
Scabby-kneed and childish;
Yet as we grew older,
We realized how well we fit;
We were both fire,
So well-fit, so compatible,
That when we saw each other,
The world blurred into oblivion;
To be together,
Was forbidden, was utterly wrong;
Yet, we were both fire,
Too strong-willed and too headstrong;
However, deep down, I knew,
That I wasn't good enough for her,
I had too much baggage and too much rage,
At the system that forced us apart;
Deep down, I knew,
That she deserved someone better,
Someone who could provide for her,
And someone who could cherish her;
Yet, I was a stubborn mule,
I hoped against hope,
That we would make it work,
Because hey, we're both fire, right?
But now, as I see you,
In the arms of that posh prince,
I feel jealous and angry,
But most of the time, I feel sad,
That I can't care for you as much as he can;
A/N: Hi guys!
This was my first Selection story.
Well, actually, it's a poem based on Aspen's thoughts in the second book. I don't know if poetry is allowed in , but hey, I thought I'd give it a try, eh?
As I stumbled into this fandom, I've seen so many fanfics circling around SYOC. Idk why, but it feels like a trend now.
(No offence intended to the ones who are SYOC writers, by the way)
So heyyy there. I'm Amelie. I'm young enough and uncharacteristically neurotic. I usually write fanfiction about Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and all. So, if you all are Potterheads or Demigods, you might check my fics out, if you like! :P
Thank you for checking out this!
Review, if you like it or not. Just tell me your views! :-)
Have a lovely day!
Love,
Amelie!
