She stood there gripping the empty wooden box close to her, hard eyes focused on the ground before her feet as she tried hard not to show the sorrow building in her. The words her mother used so easily still hung over her head, stinging each time they repeated themselves over and over again. Gritting her teeth the young girl tried to ignore them but each time she pushed those thoughts back they returned even more vicious than the last.
I feel sorry for all the members of the Zodiac, being made to keep you company. Eventually they'll get tired of being around you all the time and leave for good.
Cringing she looked down into the box she was holding, drops falling shakily into its depth. The bonds that she had with everyone were forever, she told herself. She was "God" after all, and they were the Zodiac that followed her. Wrappings herself around the box tighter she slumped to the floor. "They won't leave me." She couldn't stop the ache that shook her deep down, arms dragging over her face to wipe the tears dry. Her overpowering sorrow was becoming twisted and cold, an anger growing deep in her somewhere. A zealous hatred for her mother building.
Quietly she placed the lid back on the box and shoved it away where she knew nobody would find it, wiping the last of her tears on her sleeve. She would prove her mother wrong. Each and every member cursed by a spirit of the Zodiac would never abandon her, no matter the circumstances. The bonds that they all shared were unbreakable because, she mentally stated to herself, she was "God."
