I moved to bite my nail as North and South beat on each other in one of their 'friendly sparring-matches' but stopped as my metal gauntlet made that impossible. While there were never any serious injuries sustained during these bouts the bruises and stiff muscles added up real quick.

'I do advise you to lower your heart rate. Despite my reparations, Sigma's attack still has your strength enhancement unstable. And the Director did say if you broke another table you'd be on cleaning duty for a month.'

"Right, thanks, Zero." I tried to pry my fingers from the indents I had made in the metal but they refused to move. I scoffed and placed a knee onto the surface, pulling my hands free. I needed to punch something.

I left the observation room and moved to the gym, stripping out of my armor and into only the black body-suit I wore under it I began to beat on a leather punching bag, letting my thoughts wander. By the time I realized that my knuckles were split and bleeding, the bag was in no usable shape anymore.

"Zero, why didn't you remind me to wrap my hands."

'I find that pain is the best teacher.'

"Ass."

'Bitch.' I chuckled and tossed the punching bag onto the pile of broken ones next to Maine's pile. Mine was only slightly smaller.

I looked at the blood dribbling down my knuckles and picked up my armor and left to my room. I was stripping before the door was even fully shut.

So I stood in the shower, hot water running over me, as I let my thoughts wander again as I stared at pink tinged water, until Zero warned me of an intruder in my room, but I relaxed as North called out and I heard the familiar thunk of Freelancer Body Armor hitting the floor. North pushed the door open to reveal his black and blue torso with several abrasions. I gritted my teeth in anger and clenched my hands, feeling my jagged nails slice my skin, making the water run pink anew. He looked down at the pink water and sighed, gave me a hard stare, and I took several calming breaths. I let my hands stop bleeding, by which point North had finished cleaning the blood off of his own wounds and had joined me, rubbing down my back with soap. I sighed in relief as his fingers dug into my neck and relieved the tension there. Eventually he was finished and I began to massage shampoo into my hair, wincing as it seeped into my knuckles and palms.

"That's what you get." He lightly chastised me. I rolled my eyes and lightly smacked his toned stomach. He gave an exaggerated wheeze and doubled over.
"Sorry, too much?" I asked as I realized that he wasn't joking.
"Just a bit." He wheezed. As he recovered I stood under the spray and let the soap was out of my hair in hot rivulets.

After that we stayed in the shower, washing each other's backs, massaging each other, and kissing, until Zero and Delta called us to the Briefing room.

I groaned and looked at North.

"Duty calls." I said.
"Yeah, it does."

We both stepped out of the shower and pulled on our armor, chatting as we did so. Eventually we were standing outside my door and I leaned upwards to kiss him before we parted.

"Just another day at the office, eh?"
"Yeah, try not to break any tables, alright?" He said, jogging away.
"Screw you!" I yelled back, also jogging, and I heard a faint 'you wish!' from his direction.

"Such a child." I thought.
'I hear that opposites attract, but in your cases that's obviously not true.' Said the little blue angel of annoyance. I sighed and just ran.

Just another day at the office.
