Lightning flashed brightly in the darkened sky above, the usual sing that a storm was brewing, and what better way to enjoy it than watching a horror movie. All the adults were away on a mission of utmost urgency, after having decided that more than half of the New Recruits were by now responsible enough to be left alone, of course, after having left everything that they would possibly need to survive, with easy access. Professor Xavier had taken all the X Men with him to the Himalayas to recruit a possible, but unstable, mutant.
The New Recruits were gathered in the recreational room, all huddled together on one of the largest of three couches in the room. They considered this such a rare occasion, that they had even invited Jamie to take part in watching of the horror movie. Just then, as the movie reached the part where the girl rings the doorbell, the doorbell of the mansion's front door dinged and an oh so convenient flash of lightning flashed across the sky.
"Aaaah!" they all screamed in unison, whilst jumping from their seats and landing in various awkward positions.
"Wait, pause the movie." Amara instructed as she climbed off whoever it was that she had landed on to turn on the lights
Ray grunted as Amara's weight was lifted off his back. Sam paused the movie and everyone listened intently. A few seconds later the doorbell was heard again. The New Recruits cautiously walked to the door, they stood there for a moment deliberating whether or not they should open the door. Finally Jubilee reached out and opened it, she spotted a small figure on the ground and stepped outside in the pouring rain to investigate, whilst beckoning the others to follow her. Jubilee crouched down close enough to make out that the figure belonged to a small child, who lay unconscious, her face pressed against the cold concrete.
"Guys check this out, and bring some blankets and towels." Jubilee called over her shoulder as she lifted the small child in her arms and headed back towards the entrance.
By the time Jubilee made it to the front area of the mansion both her and the girl were soaking wet. The others began surrounding her when she laid the girl on the large Rec. room couch and Roberto handed her the blankets and towels. She backed away to go and dry her hair and change her clothes, but was back within half an hour. When she returned Bobby had already assigned task to everyone and now he, Amara, Roberto and herself were in the room with the unconscious girl. Roberto had brought the first aid kit and the four of them were bandaging the girl, the most serious of her wounds being a deep gash on her lower left abdomen, which was bleeding profusely. But, luckily for her the four mutants had been through enough time in the infirmary and had watched enough medical dramas to know what to do.
While Jubilee had left the room Jamie had become panicked and Rahne had taken him out of the room to the kitchen and Ray and Sam had been sent to contact Professor Xavier, only to have them return saying that the phones were out, due to the storm. When they had finished bandaging the girl they all took a seat and began pondering what to do next.
"What do we do now?" Ray inquired from his post at the foot of one of the smaller couches
"We wait." Bobby replied
