To Love Someone
I actually like the Juri and Haruka pairing. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because Juri always picked on Kaname. ^-^" So I don't own Vampire Knight.
"Check mate." Haruka said, laying down his king. Looking at his son, he could tell he was frustrated from the lost that he handed to him. Smirking, he started to put all the pieces back on the board in case his son wanted to challenge him again.
"How come you always win?" Kaname asked, glaring at the chess pieces. How he hated and loved the game.
"Practice. I started playing chess before I was with your mother so I think you should play it too. It might come in handy out of these days." The older Kuran said before getting out of his seat and walking out of the room where his frustrated son sat. Sighing to himself, he took in the sweet aroma of something that was in the kitchen; something that Juri was cooking.
Peeking into the kitchen, a soft beat of music – possibly something that was his wife's new favorite band – was playing in the background. Opening the door wider so he could get in, he looked at the table to see their daughter sitting there watching her mother.
"What is it Haruka?" Juri asked as she used a beater to stir the batter for the cake that she was making.
"Wondering what I was smelling."
"I take it Kaname lost again." Juri chuckled with a smile. She had a feeling he was going to be a bad mood at dinner that night. Spinning the beater from the batter, she set it on a paper towel so she could use it later. Pouring the liquid, she stole quick glances at her husband as he looked over their daughter's shoulder,
"What are we having for dinner tonight?" Kaname asked as he opened the door to the room.
"Pork chips with rice balls!" Juri chimed as she turned her smile onto her son, a smile that told Kaname that she was up to something. "I heard you lost to your father again. Too bad, better luck next time I guess. Up for some games after dinner tonight Kaname?" She asked.
"No." Their son bluntly said before walking out of the room with his gaze on his sister.
"Yuki, can you please go comfort your brother since he's a sore loser?" Juri asked as she set the batter filled metal pan in the oven to bake.
"You're mean to him." She blurted out before hopping out of the chair and out of the room to go find her older brother.
"Too bad. He'll have to get use to it." Juri answered even if their children couldn't hear it. Leaning against the counter, she looked at her husband to see him sitting in the same spot their daughter was.
"He's getting better. That's a plus to it." Haruka announced with a smirk.
Walking over, she sat down on his lap and leaned against her love. Feeling his arms wrap around her waist, she smiled but kept it hidden from him. "Yeah. I love you Haruka-kun."
"I thought we agreed that we were not to use honorifics with each other." He said, nuzzling into her back.
"But I love saying it." She whined.
Hope you like it. Please review.
