One kiss, I miss you
Two kisses, I want you
Three kisses, I love you
Four kisses, I need you
Five kisses, I hate you.
I'm dreaming.
I have seen this same dream countless times before.
This is the very same field that witnessed the day I became my own lord. But it's still so different. Gone are the beating rain and puddles of red. Instead of the mud soiled bodies of the victims of the war, there is field covered in emerald grass and a bright blue sky above. I saw dandelions as yellow as the sun and felt a gentle breeze in my hair. I don't belong here, I thought as I looked down at myself. The uniform I wore while fighting for my independence is mocking me with it's patches of blood and dirt. I grimaced and removed the jacket I'm wearing before letting it fall to the ground.
It is peaceful, yet so wrong.
I looked up. The most important part of his dream was nowhere to be seen, but I knew it would soon appear, it did every time. Every time those piercing green eyes would drill to my blue ones and then look away in pain and disgust. And it hurt every time. I never regretted my decision to be independent, but seeing the agony on England's face every night I went to sleep was becoming too much for me to handle. But where was England? By now I should be waking up screaming apologies to him.
I opened his eyes I didn't even know I had closed and looked around. I was alone.
Then I heard something. It sounded like a child laughing and rustling of grass behind me.
"Woaaah, I look so cool!" a young boy cried out and looked up at me with a wide grin. I looked down at the boy.
"Brother, don't I look cool?" the boy laughed and pointed at me. What a rude kid.
"You sure do", a too familiar voice called out. I directed my gaze past the kid and suddenly felt cold. Green eyes smiled at me warmly. I swallowed and stared at my former brother. The last time I had seen England smile was when I was still a child. Oh how I had longed to see the corners of those lips to turn up for me once more.
"You've really grown Alfred", the man smiled as the wind ruffled his hair and the sun made his skin glow. An angelic sight at least. I tried to answer, to reach out and grab the man in front of him, but just as my fingertips were about to touch the other, my vision was painted black.
It was time for the nightmare to end.
I woke up to the sight of my ceiling, but the only thing I could see was the image of my loved one smiling at me like he used to.
"… Damn it all!"
Yeah yeah, as you can see, another fic! I just don't learn, do I? But worry not, I'm making steady progress on my other fics! I'm mostly writing this to get rid of my writer's block, but if you like it, please review and tell me!
