Pebblepaw wandered aimlessly through the bristly pines of the ShadowClan forest. Her senses were only half alert for prey; she didn't really feel like hunting today. The tall trees blocked out the dawn sun's ray, and the birds sang a joyful tune. It was days like these where you wanted to lie back and relax.

Before she knew it, Pebblepaw was right on the border to ThunderClan. The ThunderClan dawn patrol was approaching. To avoid anything that might turn into trouble, Pebblepaw ducked behind a nearby boulder. As the ThunderClan's approached the border, Pebblepaw could hear their hushed voices. But why were they speaking so secretively? Pebblepaw listened closely.

"Why does ShadowClan stink so much?"A voice asked.

"Because they eat their weight in smelly toads and snakes Flamepaw," another one came.

"But...why?"Flamepaw said, puzzled.

"It doesn't matter!"a completely different voice came. It was tough and strong; Pebblepaw recognized the voice. It was Darkstar, the leader of ThunderClan!

Pebblepaw peeked around the stone, and saw the cats. Darkstar stood, proud and strong, beside him stood a large warrior, and a bright ginger apprentice. The apprentice's (Flamepaw's) dark green eyes held a mix of curiosity and amazement, you could tell he was trying his hardest not to leap up and down with excitement.

"So Darkstar, what do we do again?"Asked the warrior.

"I thought you had a good memory Hailstreak!"Darkstar meowed, rolling his eyes,

"If I knew you would forget the plan as soon as you arrived, I wouldn't have taken you!"

"I know but..."Hailstreak trailed off.

Darkstar sighed, and looked away from Hailstreak.

"Can you imagine all of this forest ours Flamepaw?"He asked the apprentice, looking dreamily at the trees.

"Well, I don't really like the idea of owning the stinky forest," Flamepaw answered, but he regretted what he'd said when he saw his leader's face.

"You ungrateful piece of fox dung, I brought you here, told you the whole forest could someday be yours and you saw that!"Darkstar snarled, circling Flamepaw.

His claws were un-sheafed, he looked like he was going to attack the apprentice, but Pebblepaw couldn't bear to watch. She ducked back behind the tree, heard a yowl of pain, then she heard the ThunderClanners walk away.

She sprinted back home, boy did she have a story to tell the Clan today!

Hello! Can you comment please? But please keep flames away...
