Merry Christmas, everybody! I had the idea for this story shoveling at 5:30 in the morning, hence the freezing cold weather and snow. I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural.

Sam shifted on the bed, snuggling into the warmth of the blankets as his mind began to slowly awake. Somewhere in the back of his brain, a nuisance tingled.

Something was off.

Sam forced his eyes open, noticing from the light that came in through the window that it was morning-time, and looked over to the bed across the room from his, where Dean had slept the night before. The bed was neatly made, which was a habit of Dean's as soon as he was awake.

Rubbing his eyes, Sam sat up, trying to unstwist the blankets from his body (he tossed and turned a lot during the night), but instead falling face-first onto the floor. He groaned, tugging the rest of the sheet off, and threw it onto the bed. He needed to find Dean.

"Dean?" He called, checking the bathroom and kitchen of the small motel. His older brother was nowhere to be found.

Maybe he's in the Impala, Sam thought, tying on his boots and stepping outside. He realized that he should've brought a coat. It had snowed at least 16 inches overnight, and Sam was standing in the freezing weather wearing nothing but a t-shirt and jeans.

It would make sense for Dean to come outside, as he had always loved the snow. Sam still remembered the first time that he and Dean had seen snow- Dean's smile had been priceless. It seemed magical that ice would fall from the sky, and that it would be so powdery and soft.

Sam wasn't all too surprised when he saw that a ton of snow had been wiped off the Impala and that the driveway surrounding it had been shoveled. If they had to leave this motel in a hurry, there was no way to do it when they were snowed in.

"Dean?" Sam called, looking around for the familiar coat of his brother's. He-

Whump!

Sam screeched as a pile of snow was dumped onto his head. The snow seemed to cut into his bare arms, face, and neck, and he stood shivering as he looked onto the roof to see Dean standing there with a snow shovel, laughing hysterically.

"You scream like a girl!" Dean squeaked, barely able to speak through his laughter.

Sam frowned at looked at the edge of the one-story roof. He jumped up, grabbing the edge and pulling himself up. Dean was handicapped by his laughter and weakly fought Sam as he was thrown off the roof and into a large snowpile (courtesy of Dean's shoveling), still laughing.

Sam jumped down next to him, but Dean had recovered and began to run, so Sam started to chase him. Sam's long legs proved an advantage for him, and he tackled Dean into the snow.

"How do you like snow in your face, huh?" Sam asked, smiling as he forced Deans head into the snow. Dean was still convulsing with laughter, but he was able to roll over, smiling as he gasped from the lack of oxygen. "Oh, Sammy," he chuckled, "it's Christmas."

Sam chuckled, remembering that it was, in fact, Christmas. He stood up and brushed the snow from his clothes. "Merry Christmas, Dean."

"Merry Christmas, Sammy."

Sam offered Dean a hand, and helped Dean up from the snow. They both headed back to the motel, back to another Christmas.
