I own nothing.

Wade let out a grunt as he helped Crazy Earl (A.K.A. his dad) up the stairs to the doctor's office. The last thing he wanted to do today was drag his drunken father to the doctor's, but seeing as he backed over him, Wade figured it was the right thing to do.

When he opened the door, he heard the little bell ring over his head. He called out to the seemly empty waiting room, "Hey, Doc! Crazy Earl needs a once over."

"What happened?" Zoe asked as she made her way from around the desk.

"Old man was passed out drunk underneath my boat trailer, I backed over him." Wade explained as he helped the old man.

"You ran over him?" Zoe accused.

"I didn't- sit down- I didn't run over him, ok? I was going fishing and I backed over him with my boat trailer, which weights next to nothing." Wade defended himself to the pretty New Yorker. Not that she was listening to him; she was too busy trying to examine his father.

"Sir, are you having any trouble breathing?" She asked. His response was to exhale right in her face, giving her a breath full of his stale alcohol breath. She gagged slightly and said, "Ok, we don't need to do that anymore."

"Pulse is fine." Addie said as she stood up.

"See there, he's drunk as a skunk. You couldn't hurt him if you tried. Now all the good fishing spots are gonna be gone." Wade said, slightly irritated. Not only was he missing his fishing time, he was also being made out as the bad guy in all of this.

"Really? You ran over him and YOU'RE annoyed?" Zoe asked in an accusing tone.

"Like I randomly check to see is anyone happens to be passed out underneath my boat."

Crazy Early finally spoke up. "I was asleep." He then focused onto Zoe. "You are purddy." This earned him a smack on the head by Wade. Even though he would never admit it, Wade had a soft spot for Zoe and there was no way in hell he would let his drunk of a father hit on her.

Zoe glanced up at Wade, wondering where that came from, but left it be. She didn't need to deal with that right now. She returned her focus to Crazy Earl. "And you are lucky; no broken bones, your abdomen- it's soft and non-tender. I think you're gonna be fine." She looked back up at Wade. "No thanks to you."

Wade didn't say anything, just rolled his eyes in annoyance.

Zoe continued on talking. "Let's get you in there to lie down; I think you could use a nap."

"Last time I tried to do that, I got run over." Earl said as Wade and Zoe got him to his feet.

Wade shot him a glare. "Backed over." He continued to help his father into the next room. Once he got his father all situated, he made a quick exit. Even though he liked spending time with Zoe, pushing her buttons and all, he didn't want to stay around when she viewed him as the scum of the universe. Besides, there was a fish out there with him name on it.

I just recently started to watch "Hart of Dixie" and I really like it. I really like Wade, which is why I wrote this (when I really should be working on a paper). This is my first "Hart of Dixie" fic, so please be kind.

Feel free to leave a review and happy reading!
