Sarah Jane stood silent and watched as her aunt turned the corridor, exiting the large hallway. Before she leaves, she turns, facing her.

"Good bye, Sarah dear,' her aunt says, a smile forming across her tightly pressed lips. Once again, Aunt Lavinia would leave her, for one of her long trips across the world. The last time this had occurred, Sarah Jane was no more than a child of eight, and was sent to live with her grandparents. This time though was different. Sarah was no longer a child, but an adult. She could make her own decisions where to go, and what to do. Her aunt had given her run of the place while she was away, so she could have a home whilst her aunt was busy traveling for her research.

Sarah Jane knew her aunt was some sort of biologist, but she didn't know the scope of her work. Most of the reason was, she never asked and her aunt never went into details. She'd tell Sarah Jane, 'It's better to not talk work when one is comfortably resting at home, 'Lavinia would say, as she sat in the large brown leather chair, worn from age. Usually, she would sit there, quietly reading, perusing through some medical journal.

Sarah Jane sighs at the thought of not seeing her aunt, and then yells across the hallway, waving.

'Good bye, Auntie…hope to see you soon!'

Her aunt smiles at her, and waves, leaving the home on Bannerman Road for the last time.
