Okay everyone, this is my new crossover that I randomly thought up at an airport. So I hope you enjoy it, and if you like it (or if you don't like it) please review.

It had happened so suddenly.

One moment he was herding the goats, the next he was collapsed on the ground coughing up blood. Link didn't know what hit him. While he had lain in the field in agony, Fado had rushed off to get Rusl and the two of them managed to drag the sickly boy to his house.

Uli had come soon after to tend to Link, and try to stop his burning fever. But even with all her efforts Link continued to grow weaker and weaker, and his fever burned on never relenting.

Finally on the fifth day of his sickness his breathing began to lessen and his eyes gained a far off look. Rusl and Uli begged and prayed to Farore for him to stay with them, but Farore could do nothing. For Link's soul had begun to leave his body, and when that started she could do nothing to stop it. Within the hour it had left Link's body entirely, and he was lost to the world beyond.

Even though what was supposed to be the new hero was lost, Farore had a plan. It was time for her to speak to her sister, Nayru or as others called her Truth.

At this precise time a boy stood standing in the center of massive transmutation circle. With a deep sigh Edward Elric clapped his hands together and gently pressed them to his chest. The circle lit up with a soft blue hue, and the boy smiled gently as he closed his eyes.

He opened them to find himself standing in front of a gate, and as the doors opened he allowed the black hands to drag him inside. As the doors began to close behind him, Ed looked back once more to see a young boy being reconstructed. Then the world went black.

"Please Nayru! With the young hero dead we need someone new, and he's perfect!"

"Farore, I understand your concern but think about this seriously…"

"I am taking this seriously! It will work, all I need is your help…"

"…Because I'm the keeper of the gate… ah, fine! But don't come crying to me when this doesn't work."

"Oh, thank you sister! He won't disappoint us, I'm sure of it!"

"Link! Wake up Link! Oh dear goddesses spare him, he has yet to live!"

Rusl wept as he held onto the young Hylian's hand, and he yelled up at the sky, "Please not him! Not him…. Take me…. Take me…"

Uli wrapped her arms around her grieving husband, as silent tears ran down her checks. The two stayed this way for a few minutes before Uli ushered her husband to the door.

As she went to open it however a sound of a soft moan stopped her. For a moment it was silent again, then another moan but in the form of a name, "Al…. phonse…"

Rusl raced over to the once dead Link's side and grabbed the boy's wrist. There was a pulse. Tears ran down the man's face like a river, "Oh Link… Link!"

Uli felt the boy's forehead and checked his breathing, and sure enough… "Rusl his fever is gone and his breathing is perfectly normal."

"It's a miracle, Rusl whispered to himself. "A miracle…"

So what did you think? I know its little short but most prologues are so... Please review!
