Inside a dark cave a humanoid being stood. It was covered in light blue robes which were tainted by dust. Two large wings sprouted from its back, they were once white but after years the dark had turned their tips into a blue coloration. Its followers were vigilants of the dark but over time ignorance and conceit plagued their minds, they chose another god and in their arrogance were cursed to forever protect the Crypt.
"For how long are we going to stand here?" a female voice came from the hole of the Darlurker´s hood.
"For as long as it takes. Our duty is to keep the Abyss sealed." A male voice answered.
"It has been centuries since we first arrived here. We couldn´t destroy it and there is no point in sealing it, HE will eventually rise again." The female voice said.
Silence.
"You know it is pointless. Four fragments are already in the outside world, accumulating souls and power for the day of revenge." The female voice said.
"Fire may fade but a new fire will eventually ignite from the ashes. Dark isn´t permanent, it is only a phase like day and night." The male voice answered.
"Then why should we slow down the process?" the angel crossed its lower arms.
"Because the Old One´s spawns are accelerating the wheel." the male voice answered.
"In that case we should track the "daughters"." The female voice suggested.
"No, if humanity finds the abyss then the world will be undone. You know what happened in that ancient magic city." the male voice retorted.
"They were tricked to anger him." The female stated.
"And now our power is the only thing containing his desire for more." The male answered.
The "Brave Undead" landed on the cave, calling the attention of the Darklurker.
"He breached our barrier?!" the male voice asked, the other half didn´t say anything and kept "her" arms crossed.
The man pointed his finger at the angel and then passed its hand over the neck in a "decapitating gesture".
"I will not allow this human to unseal the abyss!" the male voice said flying upwards.
Battle issued with both sides displaying their knowledge of magic and skills in close combat but every once in a while the Darklurker received a hit from a spell or a sword. The angel´s underarms remained crossed because the "female part" was not answering to the other half´s calls.
After a while the female half finally talked: "Our job is not to keep the Age of Fire going, our duty is to keep balance over the world. Fire is already fading and dark is coming, shouldn´t we let dark come and start the cycle over again?" the female voice asked.
"The last era was of the Dark and now the dark children are wanting their age again. If they didn´t influence the wheel then the Age of Fire would last another five hundred years. This human is just another pawn, he doesn´t know the truth." the male voice urged as he fought the pilgrim of Dark.
"…You convinced me." The female half said.
And so for the first time in centuries the Darklurker divided itself into two parts.
