Something Else

Anybody let out a small giggle. The Jets were clowning around, what else was new? But this was the first time she had seen them get this goofy. She frowned, every scene they portrayed was distinctly familiar, from the judge to the physiatrist to the social worker. Stubbornly pushing back the memories she'd long suppressed, Anybody turned back to the teenager's antics.

"Hey girlie, you okay?" Blinking in surprise, she turned toward the voice, surprised that he was asking.

"I'm fine, why you care?"

"Just curious, you look upset."

"Well buzz off Ice!" Turning back to the self-proclaimed hooligans, Anybody found herself getting turned back around. Ice had a firm grip on her arm, and was searching her face for a sign of a lie.

Roughly ripping her arm out of his grasp, Anybody gruffly replied, "The past, happy now?" Just then, Doc opened the door, letting in the rest of the gang. Ice let out a low chuckle at Anybody's attempts to act like one of them.

He collapsed onto one of the chairs, his cold blue-gray eyes sweeping the store before coming to a stop on the people around the pinball machine. Anybody's scrappy little form was a contrast to her older sisters, not bad, just different. The clanging of the bell above the door broke the teenager out of his thoughts- the Sharks had arrived.

Riff glared at the two older girls- Velma and something-a-rather, he never tried hard to learn their names- and they strutted out of the store.

Anybody sat behind the pinball machine, praying Riff would let her stay- no dice. As Riff nodded for her to get out, she silently argued with him. Scanning the room, she tried to a little bit of sympathy from any of them. As her pleading gaze rested on Ice, he shook his head, indicating that he wouldn't help her. When she didn't react immediately, his eyes flashed her a warning, and something else, concern maybe? Disappointed that she hadn't gotten her way, Anybody stalked out of Doc's with a scowling pout.

Ice smirked as Anybody left, pushing a few P.R.s out of the way at the same time. Steeling his glare he turned back to Riff, pleased that his little distraction was gone. She was certainly something else.

So, let me know! R&R!!!!
