Authors Note: I was in school listening to Say (all I need) by one republic and thought, "Hey why not make a story," so on a whim I wrote this story. I hope you guys at least love it. I wish you happy reading.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters, just the idea.
I thought I lost you
She ran through the forest, jumping over the trunks and boulders until she came to a clearing. There she saw him just standing there in a daze. Behind her, a few leagues back, bombs were being dropped, destroying everything they landed on. "Doctor!" the name rushed out of her mouth, making her throat go raw. He didn't look at her, but turned his sad up to the sky. Tears began to fall as he watched the Earth's night sky spark with the colors of war and death. "No! Doctor!" she screamed and ran to the spot the man was standing. He turned in her direction, eyes glazed over and face tear stained he watched her come.
"River," he whispered softly before another bomb sounded through the air.
"No! Doctor!" she yelled. Her boots pounded so hard that if the ground weak it would break apart. He raise a hand toward her, his eyes released a fresh batch of tears.
"I tried-."
"No!" she said, the word sounding rough and broken. Tears fell one by one as the scene before her unfold. She fell to her knees, as everything in her broke into pieces, become nothing. "Doctor...," she said softly, her voice breaking at the end.
She cried bitterly as she watched the bomb disintegrate the Doctor, the gold orange wave of fire engulfing him.
"Doctor!" she screamed, throwing her head back before the violent pulse form the bomb threw her backwards on a large jagged rock cracking her skull. "Doctor...," she said again but softly with her last breath. The wave of fire finally reached her, turning her into ash and freeing her soul to pass into the light.
"Hello there darling," a man said when she made it to the other side. She turned around quickly, her blondish curly brown hair swirling around her, hitting her light brown skin. Her bluish green eyes widened.
"Sweetie?"
