A lot of people ask themselves, what is Christmas?

You might say "Are you fucking dumb? It's a holiday you shithead!"

But what is the feeling of Christmas? Today, we only see it as a dick-fighting competition over who can give the most kick-ass presents.

This is most unfortunate, as the only ones who seem to understand the magic of Christmas are the children before the state of adulthood hits them, gives them a wedgie, and takes their lunch money.

Is Christmas 6 teens who were not exactly normal, living in a giant T on a tiny island just outside of a giant city? Is it the fact that they know that they aren't normal, and feel the need to celebrate what they see as the true spirit of Christmas as an attempt to make themselves feel more 'normal'?

Is it the alien girl with the fiery red hair, who's feet never touch the ground during this time of year? Is it the fact that her personality is constantly set on "ridiculously ecstatic", and her happiness is nothing but infectious? Is she the very embodiment of the holiday season?

Is it the green shapeshifter? The one who's constantly trying to make those around him happy, and will go to extreme lengths to do so? Are his shenanigans really just clueless fuckery, or is he just putting his self image at risk to hopefully get joy and laughter out of those he cares about most?

Could it be the hooded girl with the purple hair? Dark, yet elegant. Cold, yet caring. To those that don't know her, she can be practically frigid. To those that do know her, she can be one of the warmest people imaginable. She has her own, special way of showing her love to those around her. yet, The most important factor is that she does show it. It doesn't matter how she does it.

Or is it the one with the domed helmet? The one who is suspiciously akin to a decent-at-best character who was forced into a story as an author's attempt to give his writing on a pre-existing series his own flavour? The one who seems relaxed on the outside, yet is silently freaking the fuck out at the possibility that his friends might think his gifts suck? He feels that he has so much to owe to these people in the room with him, though they frequently deny this. The one who keeps scooching closer to the hooded girl thinking she doesn't notice what he's doing.

The cyborg? The man with every reason to be unhappy? The man who's had his appendages and childhood dreams ripped from his grasp, and replaced with robotic parts? He has such a dark past, yet manages to be even more upbeat and jolly than he was before the robotics were added. Some may say it's a cover-up, everyone else would tell you otherwise. His attitude is very real, as he sees the present as the most important time to be in. Not in the past. It may be a miracle that he is the way he is now, but nevertheless this is the case. Those who have had the pleasure of meeting him have claimed that they have never seen another soul as bright as his.

And finally, the leader. The boy with the mask on his eyes, and the tight spandex with colours resembling that of a traffic light on his body. The rest of them don't even know his real name. He keeps many secrets, and at times has a dark side to him. He can have a borderline sociopathic obsession with a man who wears a mask and sounds a lot like Hellboy. Yet, his team still loves him unconditionally. And he does them. He feels the responsibility of their lives and their safety, and only cares about what's best for them. He wants to protect the ones he cares for, and the fiery haired alien whom he loves deeply. At the end of the day, it's them first and him later. Is it his tendency to put others before himself?

Or is this all the result of some Fanfiction author drawling out a last minute, sappy-ass Christmas Special after downing a Brown Cow?

Who knows?

Happy Holidays to all!
