There it was. And again. And again. That incessant beeping, the clicking, the constant noise emitted from the TV, driving her insane. The fact that she was constantly being jogged from where she sat on the sofa, trying to read quietly. And the insistent elbowing, or the victory yelling when another level was completed. His constant groans of disappointment when another computerised life was lost. His shrieks when there were too many enemies, surrounding his character. And then there was the pausing of the game and begging her to join, his pleading emerald eyes staring up at her. His ears drooping at every rejection.

Her brow was wrinkled in concentration, in sheer willpower of not smashing the TV into small pieces and damning the consequences. The eyes were squinting at the page, trying to lose herself in the words. Her hands tensed, gripping the book determinedly. She was not going to lose this fight. She wouldn't. She couldn't. She had willpower, more than he. It was only a matter of time before he gave up and left her to be.

Ten minutes later and the beeping had become louder, the volume increased to help him concentrate. He was smiling; she was anything but. He was enjoying himself, she knew it, he was getting amusement out of this. But she still wouldn't break.

Five minutes later and she'd really grown tired of his constant whines. Walking off, she made herself some herbal tea, slowly swallowing the soothing drink, losing herself in the moment. She could sit here and read, why not. But there it was, in the distance, the constant beeping, the constant tapping.

He'd given up now, left the game. He'd come over, prodding her, asking her questions. Was the book any good? How far had she got? She didn't reply, she couldn't. It was taking all her self-control to not yell, and god knows what would come out of her mouth if she dared to open it. But he couldn't give up now, not yet.

Te game was started again, the beeping louder, filling the whole room. She was back on the sofa, bidding her time; waiting for the right moment. He didn't realise that she was about to strike, not noticing the loose grip she was now keeping on the book, or her eyes focused on the controller.

There it was, the perfect moment. His grip was loosened during the movie part of the game. She wouldn't have another chance. Raven took a grab at the controller, her aim true and her hand so close to reaching it's destination. Beast Boy's reflexes were faster than hers. He managed to grab the controller away just in time, holding it behind his back.

"Missed me, missed me, now you gotta kiss me!" Beast Boy froze, realising what he just said. His face seemed to show his shock, but even if it did, Raven wouldn't of noticed. He didn't have time to react. For weeks, Raven would still wonder what came over her during that moment, but she never knew the answer. Raven grabbed Beast Boy, pulling him towards her, and pressed her lips against his. She quickly broke off the kiss, looking deep into his eyes. The kiss was a question, and it was up to Beast Boy to answer. He did so by kissing her, this time more deeply, smiling as he did so. It didn't matter what had come over her, what mattered was what happened next.
