Chapter 2
The next morning in the town that Jonas had run away from it had been mass chaos for a few days. Giver wanted to go out on the first day but he was too nervous of what would happen. After the few days he finally got up the courage and turned the button from off to on. "Yes Receiver? How may I help you?" The voice said as it came onto the speaker. "Tell the town that I am calling a meeting in town square. Right this moment" He replied as he grabbed a few papers from his desk and shoved them into a bag. "I will take care of that sir. Thank you for your instructions." The voice replied and Giver turned the switch from on to off once more.
A couple moments later Giver took a deep breath and began to walk forword onto the stage infront of everyone. Everyonce and a while you would see people wince and groan because a new memory just flooded their brain and they couldnt take it yet. Giver went to the microphone and cleared his throat. "I apologize for my tardyness" He announced to them first before hearing the reply of "We accept your apology". He looked at everyone. "I have realized that Jonas the new receiver was also a failure. I mis-judged about him. I thought he was strong enough and would be able to take everything easier. I was wrong. And I apologize"
They all raised eyebrows and said their forgiveness reply once more. He then went on a bit with what he had been saying. "Now I will help you to the best of my abilities. But I have to say that this change is good for this town. The other elders have been hiding things from you and you have all became ignorant. Do not listen to the others lies anymore. Just listen to me. Give into the memories" He started to say but some people came after hearing some of his rant and took him away. "Dont listen to them! Let the memories fill your head and help you learn!" He said as he was swept away.
They then put Giver in the release room but didnt have any of the tools. They strapped him to the chair and just sighed as they leaned against the door watching him. "Why did you do this Reciever?" The head elder asked and Giver didnt speak a word. He wasnt going to speak what so ever. If they were going to release him then they had no one to help them with the flood of memories. They would have to deal with he headache and the torture of all the memories by themselves.
