I have been graced with more inspiration! Hopefully this will be longer than "Bedtime."

School

"No. Not a chance."

"And why not?"

"A Catholic school will destroy our child."

"You went to one," he pointed out.

"So? It's a miracle I came out alive and healthy."

"Not quite healthy. You appear to have a fondness for beating your lovable husband over the head with brooms. And school books."

"Only when you deserve it!" she snapped back harshly.

"So you admit it, then."

"Getting back to the topic at hand, we are not sending our child to a Catholic school. They don't believe animals have souls!"

The man frowned. That could be a minor problem... if one's wife wasn't raised as a Shinto priestess, and thus able to counteract such brain washings.

"So we'll teach her otherwise. Catholic schools have the best education available in the area. Ami and Zach are even considering sending Ren to one!"

"Ami did just brilliantly at the local high school, and Usagi, for all that she can be immature, isn't exactly dumb either."

"But don't you think that Yuri deserves the exact quality of education that you got?"

"She'll be fine with the education at the local high school! I hated St. Agnes' Academy of the Sacred Heart."

"Only because you fought with the nuns at every chance!"

"What makes you think Yuri won't do the same?"

"Because she's my daughter."

"Which only tells us that, if we're exceptionally unlucky, she'll be a complete idiot!"

"Hey! I did well in school!"

"With what? A C+ average?"

"No... I got A's in gym and English."

"My point exactly."

"Hey, are you arguing already about little Yuri's future?"

"Rei, Jason... She's not even been born yet."

The couple stopped fighting and looked at the family in the door. Zach was standing right behind Ami, who held their daughter Ren in her arms.

Rei swiftly left abandoned her husband to hold the three-month-old baby in her friend's arms.

"Hey there, Ren-chan," she cooed, lifting the tiny girl into the air.

Ren giggled.

"She really is adorable, you know," Rei told Ami. "I only hope Yuri turns out half as cute, with his--" she jerked her head towards her husband "--genes in the mix."

"You really are quite disagreeable when you're pregant."

Rei shot her a dirty look, but didn't deny her statement.

Jason came up behind her and gave her a hug, his hands resting on her swollen belly.

"Come on, Rei. Lunch awaits."

She huffed, but returned Ren to her parents and allowed Jason to lead her out of their home.

After all, it would only be another day before she got to hold a little girl of her own.

And the Family Genre saga continues! A little longer than "Bedtime" but pretty much set in the same 'verse.
