A/N- This little idea just came to me so I went with it. Any mistakes are mine. =].

It's the way the cool breeze shakes the rust-colored leaves. It's the chill he feels travelling up his spine when he hears a certain song. The one they first danced to that makes him feel like she's with him.

It's just you and me on my island of hope. A breathe between us could be miles. Let me surround you, my sea to your shore. Let me be the calm you seek. Oh and every time I'm close to you, there's too much I can't say, and you just walk away. And I forgot to tell you I love you. And the night's too long and cold here without you.

Sometimes, it's a similar laugh or smile, the smell of her perfume. Each day is a new reminder, but sometimes he doesn't always take comfort in remembering. Sometimes it's just a reminder to how alone he is, to the fact that she's gone, and that she is never coming back. She can't, he took her away. Exactly one year ago, she was taken away.

"I haven't, and will never forget you, Katie." He says as he lays a bouquet or white roses on her gravestone. His eyes feel the sting he's been trying to ignore since the day begun, but the tears never come. He's almost numb.

"I haven't forgotten you, either, Jethro." Says a familiar voice behind him. He knew that voice, he's dreamt of that voice, but he never thought he'd actually ever hear it again. He hesitantly turned and couldn't believe what he saw.

"Katie?"

"Jethro, I have a lot to explain, and I'm so sorry I couldn't tell you until now, but-"

Before she could go on, he pulled her close, wrapped an arm around her while his hand cupped her cheek, and they kissed. A strong, passionate, wanting, loving kiss. The kiss of long lost lovers, yet a kiss that neither could have forgotten.

"I love you Katie."

"I love you Jethro."

Jethro held her close, feeling the warmth from her body and he knew she was real. The sting in his eyes became overwhelming and he felt the cold tear stream down his worn face. He didn't mind anymore, he didn't want to fight it. His Katie was back and he now had a reason to feel again, to live again, to simply be.

A/N2- Love it, hate it? Think I should go somewhere with it or just leave it as-is? I love reviews by the way. They're encouraging.
